Hi all. This begins my first attempt at gaining control over a habit that's consumed more and more of my life. Like the alkies say, to solve a problem one has to admit they have one, so here I am — 42, divorced, lonely, and introverted.

Speaking of drinking, I got sober in early 2017 using an online community similar to this one (which I still participate in), so NoFap seemed like a good place to start. Here, I've signed up for an October challenge of 31 days without PMO, and plan to establish accountability here with updates on successes, and failures, if applicable. Otherwise, I'm journaling again with some degree of regularity and might actually try meditation; even in my worst days I exercised, so that will continue.

Good stuff, PolkaTod. I'm also sober from alcohol for a few years now using AA's 12 steps; also am clean from drugs using the same procedure. I know (and it sounds like you also know) what an addiction looks like. This one is tougher than the others, I think; but that also means recovery is worth more. Glad you're here, bro.

Thanks, itsoverman. It's interesting how much of the story of addiction and sobriety transfers to nofap. Reassuring, in a strange way. Good to be here.
