Benefit of books on your phone - Turn your mind away from lust

Discussion in 'Success Stories' started by Deleted Account, Oct 3, 2018.

  1. I'm throwing another incident out there in hopes of giving others an idea of what can be done to stop fantasizing when out and about in public.

Sometimes we have to do things that are a bit out of the ordinary to gain victory.

I was down in San Diego today and came across a woman that was in a super tight dress with a body that got my mind going in the wrong direction. I just couldn't stop thinking about this woman and the things I'd enjoy doing with her in bed.

Nothing in this situation was her fault of course. Just my porn twisted mind acting up. Porn scenes with actresses similar to her started coming to mind.

But I was determined not to let my mind go into fantasy mode. So I stopped in an area where there weren't many people, pulled out my phone, opened the Kindle App, and read a page of the novel I've been reading. Afterwards I thought about the novel and the direction I thought it might take. Basically redirected my mind.

Didn't think about that woman again until this evening as I was reviewing my day. Thought posting about what happened might be a help to someone out there.

  2. So, if we are able to think about or engage in sex, we are therefore able to think about or engage in something else..

Well done man, You doing a great job !! I realized that when I started to read books my fantasies are much easier...I am mostly thinking about what I was reading in the book and how it is going to continue, I recommend this as well.

mindfulness is the best way to rewire. Such a great anecdote. Maybe it would be good to have things like predesignated audiobooks or readers for a better option when using devices also.

  5. Oh and just reading actual books, made from paper. No reminders, no updates, no WhatsApp messages..
I was brought up on books. They're damn fine.
