Ok so I just started watching House of Cards yesterday and, bam, there are some boobs. I looked away when I could tell they were coming, but it surprised me one time and I saw them. I didn't really look at them in a sexual way like I'd look at porn, but I don't know if my mind was still affected. Granted, it was only for like a few seconds.

But just in general, if I see a sex scene or topless women in a tv show or movie, should I be worried? Should I try to stay away from anything that might show it? I'm not resetting my counter because I didn't know it was going to be there and I did my best to not even look, but I'm wondering if I should try to avoid it altogether.

Hey bromigo. Well, I personally believe that you should not reset your counter. However, I would really recommend to stay away from most TV shows/Movies. I've been avoiding all kinds of visual stimulation that come from computers, cellphones and TV, since that can lead myself to bad content. But in the last few days I started to watch a new serie, and before I did that I wanted to be sure that there were no triggers at all. In this situation, I recommend that you check what kind of content the serie/movie that are you going to watch has. Use IMDb or any kind of internet database.
    Best regards.

If a television show has it many times , I would definitely do away with that show for right now. Later on as you get stronger and you've beat your addiction it might be easier to view that and not get triggered.

Good thing I finished Sons of Anarchy before starting this challenge ;)

No, seeing some breasts in a TV show does not count as watching porn. Neither is watching a film in which characters have sex, so long as the sex scene is only a tiny part of the movie (as opposed to films which have many gratuitous sex scenes)

Quitting PMO is difficult enough without beating ourselves up about seeing some breasts very briefly.

    Hi Bromingo!

Personally I found that ANY type of trigger, whether it's a book, a television show or a picture, sets of major urges for me. This is a very personal thing however I'd avoid it for the most part of your reboot.

I've been using the No Arousal method, more information on that here

It's a long read but totally worth it in my opinion!

    Good luck!

It depends on your masturbation habits. For me, I would intentionally put on a show or look for movie clips that have certain sex scenes or nudity and masturbate. So for me, I have to avoid movies and tv shows like game of thrones, the sopranos, married with children, etc. I stick to more "innocent" things like the Simpsons or Malcolm in the middle. But don't worry about resetting your counter if you do happen to see boobs on TV. Just try to fast forward or ignore it completely.

Don't worry too much about it. As long as you didn't look at sexually explicit material INTENTIONALLY, you're fine. You must realise that sex in movies, tv and books are all going to continue being part of your life. I know that you feel sensitive and vulnerable in the first few weeks, so try to avoid it if you can. However, don't let it pull you down.
