Nofap, Brainfog, and sleepy during the day

    Im 26 and have been addicted to porn since 16 (watch and fap several times a day). I started nofap when I was 22. Since then I have been on and off. My longest streak was 30. But I have never succeed on hard mode (always look at girls and touch myself at times). However, with lots of cheating, I still can feel the benefits are real.

    Currently, I am very sick of being tired and having brain fog all the time, so I started another streak. My current streak is 10 now (hardly touch myself or look at sexy pics). Another thing is that I am very sexually active. Since 21-22, I have sex at least once a week on average. The longest I went without sex was one month. Don't know if this add to the stimulating pathway and chaser effect.

    My pain point is that I have not wake up and feel fresh for awhile (like more than a year). I always wake up groggy and dizzy. Usually I sleep 6-7 hours, and wake up because I have to pee. Then I will stay awake, but not fresh. It takes me another nap session to feel fresh, and it will be the afternoon already before I feel fresh again. possible causes of my lethargy could be:

    - too often real sex (right now is once a week and I do semen retention, but not really kerezza, blue balls sometimes). definitely addcited to sex or high sex drive, I am very physical with gf all the time even though we have sex only on weekend

    - chronic lower back pain over a year

    - not enough sleep

    - brain not fully recovered from long long time of PMO (mostly I am addicted to masterbate and sexy pics, not porn)

    - I am also mildly depressed even though my life is pretty good now, but i still have negative thought sometimes(used to be very depressed)

    So I really want this symptom of brainfog, not fresh, not sharp mind to go away because it is a waste of time ..
    My question is how many days into nofap will I feel fresh again, right now I feel really old? Do I have to skip real sex for awhile until reboot occur before I can start having real sex?

    PLEASE HELP!!!

  2. This is how I've felt for many years now, sleep 6 hours, tired most of the time but unable to get the adequate rest and relaxation, it was due to edging/PMO for sure

    I cannot tell you how long it will take, 3, 6, 9, 12 months? Try easy mode if you have the discipline, ejaculate every 5 to 8 days and quit porn forever, never go back

    there is no specific amount of days. It is all relevant to your habits and your history. The first 1-3 weeks sucks, but after that it gets better. Month Three onwards is the best.

    Did you ever have trouble with getting erect with women when watching porn? and when you quit did you recover? Im doing it now and really hoping I will recover because ive had bad experiences!

    Guys, 6 hours is too little. You need 8 hours of sleep, it's very simple.
    I'd recommend changing the time you wake up, waking up at that time, every, singly, day. No exceptions. And going to bed earlier.
    Be honest with yourself, do you spend the last 2 hours before you go to bed doing anything useful? I'd wager you do not. It's probably spend watching TV or youtube video's or even worse, masturbating.

    Watch this podcast with a neuroscientist, who specializes in sleep if you want to know everything about sleep, and about how sleeping poorly can lead to a lot of negative results

    I feel the same way. it's my 6th day(hardmode) today and I slept the whole day - although I slept yesterday night also.
    Yet, I dont fell refreshed or anything.
    But never going back.

    That video from Joe Rogan is really nice and I recommend it to you dude.

    Focus on things like eating well and exercising.It´s probably the most important thing for recovery and also life in general.
    (I think this focus on "recovering" and doing things just for that will make us crazy,so just focus on doing the things that appeal to u in terms of nutrition and exercise.)


    I really recommend Patrick McKeown,who talks about sleep deprivation and brainfogs in terms of breathing!!!!! It has changed a lot for me as an athlete too and I couldnt sleep just like u,but doing breath exercises and only breathing through my nose have led to incredible results in my sleep!!!!!!

    I think sex is good anytime you do it willingly and with passion. It is healthy and natural. Keep being social and go out there. Also eat healthy and sleep without looking at the phone before. Good luck!
