Hey guys i'm about 7 days of getting over pmo and being a hard task that is (no pun intended). I started today to feel sad for absolutely no reason and had thoughts of suicide. I really don't understand why this came about since today I felt so happy, started to talk alot to random people. I have so much of improvements to my former pmo self. My question is guys is this part of the process ? Cause I myself am confused?
Thx for all the comments in advance.

You need to replace the dopamine you get from porn with a healthy source of dopamine.

  4. It's probably your brain trying to heal itself. There'll be ups and downs.

You could try going for a walk, especially a fairly long one. That usually makes me feel better. Just doing simple things like having a shower and getting into fresh clothes can help.

You're going to have those mood fluctuations within the next 6 months. If you want a good way to replace your dopamine source, I would recommend starting hobbies and activities that don't involve sitting mind numbing entertainment. If you over do it on video games and T.V you're going to relapse. You need to keep yourself busy with activities that will motivate you.

Personally when I started, I would go on very long walks. I tried to avoid Netflix and youtube as much as possible, I also heavily changed my diet. All these things helped convince me that I've changed which help in the times of temptations. Your chances of relapse will decrease dramatically once you've change you're lifestyle as a whole.

well then get some hobbies. Start with the gym, get onto a legitimate program like stronglifts and eat right. You could try learning something new, even if it is really simple. I picked up sodoku and the rubiks cube a few years ago, and while I am not as good as I used to be I still enjoy learning new stuff for them. I really fucking hate gaming, I used it as an escape from reality for a while and it was not good for my mental health. I think it's is a waste of time and I think most people should give it up, but if you can manage it and you aren't playing everyday for several hours, then keep it.

Hey man. I think it is natural if you break from a long period of pmo. Now it is your new life and you need to get used to it. Jees it is not easy but I am sure that you can get hold on it. Give it a go for another week I think and then let us know how you feel. Best of luck friend!

Of course I did! There were times when I felt an extreme depression and lack of motivation... some people on here refer to this as flat line. Expect this because you're changing the way your brain functions.

The toughest time of your struggle is going to be the first 2 weeks... and then within the next 2 weeks it gets easier... and so on and so forth. Once you've reached 60 days you'll find that thoughts don't arise in you as easily. then once you've reached 100 days you'll find that porn doesn't seem like something that you care about.

A word of warning though... if you do manage to get a good streak under your belt, never become complacent. You have to be extremely vigilant because temptations can come out of anywhere and anytime. I've had extremely tough temptations about 2 months ago where I wanted to relapse or sleep with any random person to satisfy that desire... keep in mind though the temptations don't last. It's like pain, while your having it, it sucks but it will eventually fade.

If you have any in-depth questions don't hesitate to message me directly.

  14. Find activities, like gaming (for you), that're naturally rewarding. Ex: You can find picking up baseball gives you that reward system and it keeps you coming back. You can just try out different hobbies (preferably social, secondary, healthy for mind/body) until you find one you like.

Alternatively, you can make a certain activity enjoyable by creating a reward. So for instance, if you wanted to start running, you can run outside on a hiking trail you like or the beach to make the activity enjoyable, not just a reward after.

But in terms of getting a hobby, you aren't trying to force yourself into a habit of doing an activity. Just search around and find something you genuinely enjoy to do.
