For a long time i had the motivation for porn/masturbation recovery because i wanted to be free of this compulsion. I have since reframed my views. Porn isn't inherently bad. Neither is masturbation. It's only bad for me because it is part of an isolated lifestyle and keeps me away form actual interactions with women.

It keeps me separated from real human connection, sex and love. So, instead of trying to "get sober" for it's own sake. I'm deciding to sacrifice porn, masturbation, isolation for a life of connection, good sex, romance and living a real life. This "addiction" is similar to food addiction, you don't stop eating, instead, you find a new relationship to food. I can't stop acting out, instead, i can shift my awareness and energy to more fulfilling things. This feels a lot more sustainable to have something to move towards instead of just trying to say no to something. Nature abhors a vacuum and just saying no is a vacuum. So a big part of my recovery isn't battling cravings, it's diverting my energy towards other things.

I could have written these words myself. I came to the same conclusion about myself about 40 years ago. And got "recovered." And again a couple of years ago now. Still haven't found that nice lady to complete the recovery this time.
