Hello, my name is Ethan Flowers. I’ve been pmo’ing (can that be a verb) since I hit puberty. I’m a Christian, and using pornography is a sin. I have struggled with this for long enough and I’m ready to stop using pornography. I have currently went 2 weeks without watching a single porn video. I hope I can keep it up and continue my streak. Any advice?

  2. Hey, welcome to NoFap! Good job reaching 2 weeks.
Cold showers help, reaching out when you are dealing with urges, reading the ‘success stories’ for motivation. And there’s also groups you can join like the Christian fapstronauts group.

Another question. Is it okay to continue MO, as long as I don’t watch porn while doing it.

I am on a similar boat. I am a Christian and have tried quitting now for about 10 months. In two days I will be at my highest streak of 35 days!

Good luck to you man. Put some blockers on your phone or Pc to help with urges. You might have to fail some to learn your triggers and be able to stay strong. And of course. Pray to god to give you strength and remove temptation

Yeah, I’ve definitely learned a lot about what is a trigger for me these past 2 weeks. I try not to think about porn or triggers though. I try focusing on how I can be a better person than I was yesterday. That way, I feel better about myself throughout the day, AND I’m not worried about avoiding porn at night, since I’ve not thought (worried) about it all day.

YOU MUST WATCH THE HEART OF MAN! on Netflix, if you haven't seen it.
    SYNOPSIS
The Heart of Man is a story inviting the sons and daughters of God to leave behind our broken, moralistic and religious way of thinking and relating to God and to others. Once we begin to know who God is (and as a result who we are), we have something to invite the world into. Freedom from performance. Freedom from managing our behavior so we appear acceptable to God. Freedom from our addictions, compulsive behaviors, secrecy and double lives. This film tears the veil of confusion over the church's current identity crisis and enables it to invite the rest of the world to the banquet God is throwing all of us.

The film features emotional interviews with real people going through their mess and subsequent healing, and includes expert witnesses of such men as William Paul Young, author of the NY Times best-selling novel “The Shack”, Dan Allender, Ph.D, author of "The Wounded Heart" and Spoken Word Artist Jackie Hill Perry. All of that is interwoven with a production-rich “prodigal son” narrative story shot in Hawaii.

Then go to the movie website and download the Vimeo roundtable discussions. https://heartofmanmovie.com/pages/store If you can afford it there's another course heartofmanjourney.com, with Jay Springer, author of "Unwanted", which I also highly recommend. This film and book have had a profound impact on my repentance and renewal of passion for the Father heart of God. It touches on so many aspects of our struggle with addictions, and while SSA is not specifically dealt with, you can certainly find the application. So for the rest of the morning I'm going to continue reading "Unwanted" which the first two sections hit me pretty hard between the eyes, and the final third section is going to call for action. I'll let you know what he prescribes...
