Does music help you as much as it helps me?

    Hey there fellas,

I Was jamming to one of my favorite bands on the way to work the other day and realized once again how helpful and therapeutic the right song can be for me. Songs can help me put words to the squishy pile of wordless emotions that my brain melts down into sometimes.

There's a song called "Gasoline" by The Bouncing Souls that really struck me hard the other day and I'd like to share it with you guys. I won't be the guy who floods ya with song lyrics, but I highly recommend a quick listen one day.

The song talks about all the negativity in the world and how numb we grow to it. That perfectly summed up how I was before I realized the hold that PMO had on me. I was desperately seeking anything that would distract me from the destructive mess my PMO habits had gotten me into and took readily to video games, alcohol and pot to help me cope.

It also talks about finally making some changes to the world (or to yourself). It asks for gasoline to burn it all away and I love metaphor...setting fire to your old self and just watching it burn.

One of the best lines from that song is easily this one: "We have run from all our ills but we won't run again." ...perfect metaphor. We have given in to our temptations and ran from ourselves for years. It's time to finally take a stand and face ourselves, for we can't change what we don't acknowledge.

Any of you guys have any music that motivates you? That lifts you up when you're feeling down or emboldens you to avoid the same slippery paths?

    Stay the course.

Music has become an obsession since quitting PMO.

This last week, I keep repeating Forever Lost by Conjure One.

Although music is good, i mean really good. It can help you get the right mood. But making it a habit is pretty bad. It can be time-wasting. You dont get your dopamine for your brain from P anymore so your tries to get it from other activities like music, tv, etc. Once I quit fapping and PMO i started watching more tv and then i quit tv and i started to listen to more music and now its curbed too. Music is not helping as much as its ruining your beliefs. You listen to music to feel good, short-term pleasure. You work all-day long for achieving your goal, LONG-TERM pleasure. See the difference? Music gets your feelings right only for the moment but working towards your goals gets your feelings right for life!
Thank you for reading, best of luck and hope this helps you!

Well sir I just wanted to bump your thread as a way of saying hooray to your return to the forum.

And I was looking for old threads to post songs in as I don't want to start a thread to post a song in:

What an unscientific load of biased crap.

    No wonder nobody likes you.

    You're a fraud. You're no master.
