Any gay guys who are rebooting, specifically if youve abstained from porn and masturbation for a prolonged period of time,

Did abstaining from pmo change what you wanted or liked to do with real sexual partners? For example, being exclusively bottom before and becoming vers or top after?

Homosexuality and all LGBT things is porn induced.PMO has been fucking up your brain and changed what you find sexually attractive. But fear not, you’ll become normal/straight again as your brain recovers. It’s called neuroplasticity.

And pornography existed before internet porn.Hell, even our prehistorical ancestors drew fucking cave porn.

  5. Whoa I had no idea that when I got boners as a kid from looking at men in real life, that was due to porn. Even though I hadn't seen any porn yet. Thanks for the heads up @Mister Fire

This is very insulting man! You reckon straight = "normal" and that "homosexuality and all LGBT things are porn induced."

Honestly, I had homosexual thoughts and desires for years before puberty, yet lived a very sheltered life and saw no porn.

  7. @Clean Willy yup these mandates from @Mister Fire are pretty transparent as the fearful hopes and dreams of someone who desperately wants to get rid of his gay feelings (which is not a dig, @Mister Fire, we all got gay feelings bro, it's not a big deal). Although this website and community has a lot of good information, one of its big red flags is the bro-science understanding of the spectrum of attraction.

Also, here's some help for anyone reading this who's trying to take the tough-guy approach and bully themselves into sobriety/change of behavior: the shame and blame approach has close to a 0% success rate, if you were to ask any legitimate addiction counselor. If you want to change your life with any hope of long term consistency, start with some self-compassion. Otherwise you're trying to build a new life on a foundation of hating yourself. The more shame you load yourself down with, the greater your desire to escape through numbing.

Instead, feel relieved and lighter by remembering that you're struggling alongside everyone else, all of us. Your problems are not unique, you are not uniquely imperfect. You are not worse than anyone else. You are not unloveable. You're surrounded by people with the same exact miseries, anxieties and feelings of insecurity (and I mean in real life too, not just on this website). Build your recovery on a foundation of self respect and full acceptance of yourself and watch the weight come off your shoulders and the days of sobriety start to pile up again.

PMO makes people gay? Yeah some, but not me! I was gay before I even saw porn - years before! Deal with it Mr Fire! ;)

Thank you for answering my original question.

  13. wow. There are some amazing people on nofap. There are also some absolute plums. Iv never read anything more disrespectful in my life. I’m straight as an arrow and still horrified to hear your homophobic ignorance and arrogance. This is not the place

  14. You know what it is? It’s the standardised response to the HOCD epidemic the forum is currently dealing with.

Some say homosexual thoughts are engendered by porn, but if you abstain long enough they will go away; others say that porn merely uncovered a latent form of homosexuality which always existed, but which you were unwilling to acknowledge.

I don’t know who to believe. But I don’t understand why the thought of being gay or bisexual is so distressing. If that is who you are, that is who you are.

  15. Won't lie I started liking dicks but only in straight porn, riddle me that... I sincerely believe porn can condition sexual taste in fantasy but it cannot change your sexual orientation, who you are inherently attracted to. I'm also very afraid of having been made gay by porn but it's just not possible. Touching another man's dick irl did nothing for me without going over porn and picturing myself as female in my mind. There is something about those porn actresses and the way they act around other men's genitals that can be very arousing even to an otherwise straight guy. So I eventually developed a condition called autogynephilia (sissy fetish). I'm sure I never would have had these desires if it weren't for porn. But actually turning gay in real life because of porn? I sincerely doubt it.

  16. Some people seem to think that the thought of "becoming" gay or bisexual is so horrifying because it would mean that they would have to then suddenly change their whole life to accomodate this. Not necessarily.
