If you want to relapse, DONT!.. 21 Days and Finally starting to see some improvement!

    Hi guys (ill try not to be too graphic!)

    so today is 3 weeks with zero PMO or Edging of any kind... Up until a few days ago I was starting to get frustrated due to lots of urges but not much in the way of improvement with PIED.

    So frustrated in fact that I came close, REALLY close to relapsing but stuck it out and then yesterday seems to have been a breakthrough. I was finally able to get it up just by fantasizing about girls I have known and situations that ive been in (no touching myself, just using my mind). It was not fantasy to porn which ive read is as bad as watching porn anyway.

    It wasn't the stongest erection ive ever had but This is a HUGE deal for me and im buzzing to see if things continue to improve over the coming weeks. I have also seen a dramatic rise in my confidence when talking to people. Both flirting with Girls, making eye contact and also talking to peers at work and getting my point across. I feel like I can do anything at the moment!! :D

    I owe most of the journey so far to this site and the community for keeping me on the path when ive wanted to drift so thankyou for that! :p

    For anyone that is finding it tough going (which it is!) and isn't seeing results then please just STICK WITH IT... Don't give up yet, try and go one more day and see what happens.

    Im going to push on to 30 days now and will update again if things happen.

    Good for you man. 21 days its a great streak i am so happy for you that you managed get over the urges and didnt give up. You are strong man keep up!!

    Yeah, im sure I remember that from the videos on yourbrainonporn.com.

    When you fantasize about Porn, your brain is still releasing dopamine as if you are actually watching porn and the addiction paths in the brain are still active. Its as if you are actually sat at your computer!

    Sometimes it's so hard.
    The other day I found myself literally walking outside away from my family because I couldn't take it anymore and I was going to MO...
    Before I knew it I was about to start before I took control of myself and dragged myself back inside and fought it by playing scrabble with my son...
    Then we went to the pool and I swam 20 laps...
    Finding a way to take control is always the hardest thing to do!
    It has to be done though...

    All right so I haven't fabbed but I watch a very little bit of porn for like ten maybe 15 min after going 10 days is this starting over or am I good?

    Thanks man... That is an interesting series of vids.

    I cant quite believe that i'm almost there, just got to ride out the next few days but I have to say that I want to continue past 30 days now. I may not put a target on it as it adds pressure but I feel like my life is better now than it was 30 days ago and that is mainly through abstinence!

    Woah,
    This is my first post on this website.
    As from the name, I consider myself the Neil Armstrong of fapstronomy. I have PIED.
    I have been watching PMOing since 13. Now at 24, it's come back to haunt. I usually have PE if not PIED.
    Therefore, enough is enough. Today is day 2. Wish me luck. Any advice on how to use this website would be really helpful.

    Good luck mate.

    You could start a journal in the journal section and update when you feel like you want to. That helps some people as it gives some accountability.

    Personally, ive spent more time in the success stories section as ive been working towards my initial 30 day target as reading about the positive effects that people have experienced has helped me stay with this and not relapse.

    You should also check out the videos on www.yourbrainonporn.com about recovering from PIED and other bits as it really helped me clarify what was happening and once I understood that better, I have been able to deal with it easier.

    Oh and add a counter to your profile for whatever goals you have, it really helps show you how far you have come!

    Im so close to my first goal but I have totally flatlined today!.. I could quite easily relapse right now :mad:

    Managed to get through that little hump... 24 hours to go to reach my target.

    It definitely feels like have a number of days for a target is good at the start as it is less daunting than trying to give up PMO forever but now that im almost there, all I can think about is edging once I hit my target. Almost as a reward to myself. How messed up is that!

    Well I made it... 30 days hard mode complete.

    I feel like ive come along way in the last month and can definitely say that giving up PMO is a very positive step but its not the end of the story, its just the beginning!

    Has this experience changed me? YES, I believe it has... I am more confident around people and girls especially, I feel stronger mentally and physically. I am achieving more due to the extra time that I have by not wasting it fapping for hours.

    Am I over watching porn?.. NO, I still want to watch it but will have to continue to try and stop myself. Hopefully like quitting smoking, the urge to watch will fade with each day/week that passes.

    The big question is has it fixed my PIED?.. NOT YET, I haven't been with a girl so wont really know until that happens but I have seen some encouraging signs that make me think that im on the right path to beating that problem for good.

    So what is next?.. 60 days? 90 days?

    Im not going to put a number on it as ive said in previous posts that once I reach the goal, I almost feel like I need to reward myself with fapping which is completely backwards! instead I am going to try to see not watching porn as a lifestyle choice instead of feeling like it is something that I have to give up. In the same way that I choose to eat healthy, I choose not to watch porn.

    I am going to take each day and week as it comes, get out there and live life, try not to waste a single day as you never know what is round the corner. My granddad always use to say that this life isn't a dress rehearsal. Its time to start living up to that and making him proud. I am going to say YES to more experiences and not stress about the little things.

    Lastly, id like to say thanks to NoFAP and you guys, reading and posting on this site has definitely kept me on the straight and narrow during the 30 and for that im truly grateful. And special mention to Master90Days for being an accountability partner!

    Good luck to you all, we are all capable of beating this horrible addiction.

    Hey, congrats! You did it!

    Your 30 days hard mode weren't a dress rehearsal, either. You did the real thing, man!

    Good luck for the next days and the transition from reaching a goal towards choosing a lifestyle.
