Sounds kind of strange, but what do you think? Do you think we have a chance? I feel the porn industry has gotten more chaotic, more extreme, and even more heinous in every single way. More and more young people are getting hooked into this demonic force. It's so strong that it's superhuman. David had some tools to defeat Goliath, but do we have enough tools? There's other organizations around that could help us, but still, could that be enough? NoFap is just the beginning, but what are your thoughts? Can the porn industry be taken down by some government or some other type of movement? Could there be a world of no porn or is it too late?

Pornography has been around for a long time , a really long time. The word is a Greek word meaning "writing about prostitutes". Often times we only think about porn as the videos we fap to , but it is so much more than that.

Romance novels=porn, porn for women, women are far less visual and much more emotional. Porn that appeals to men isn't the same as women. Wikipedia says "Pornography may be presented in a variety of media, including books, magazines, postcards, photographs, sculpture, drawing, painting, animation, sound recording, film, video, and video games."

Now to the David/Goliath metaphor, I'm assuming that you are a man of faith? If you are you remember there is one thing that David had on his side…faith in God. Also, David's mindset was different than that of all the other soldiers at that time which made him stand out. The world is what it is , it won't change.

There are so many things that can be said about this post but I don't want to get into a political debate nor a religious debate, I'm just here to stop PMO.

The power as always been ours, we fed the monster and as it grew it gained power over us, but as we heal and become better we wont need it anymore and then it will die to be erased from history forever.

David was fearless, he stepped up against a straight up The Mountain looking scumbag to give him a reality check.

Don't worry about the metaphor; I was just trying to be creative. I understand what you're saying about everything. Although I'm not really not that religious, but started believing in my own religion again, I feel that faith plays a huge role in pornography addiction. You're right, the world will not change, but at least we can change ourselves.

This world is sinking further into moral depravity. There is no way to stop it. Most people don't want to stop it. It's "A Brave New World". Take away drugs(recreational and percription), sex(porn and other media included), alcohol, TV and sports and people would freak out. Most people think it's an exercise in freedom to watch porn, but really, they are willingly entering slavery. Fools.

I love the metaphor. It hits hard with me. As we move further into the information age and more and more youth get easy access to online pornography it's becoming a bigger and bigger issue. Somewhat of a giant lol. I saw a video that says something like 30 percent of men know Internet porn is messing up their sex lives and another 15 percent say they're not sure if it is or not. If almost half of men out there are having problems in bed because of this that to me is a huge problem.

I do believe it can be fought though. David had a rock. And our rock is our voice. There needs to be more talk about what issues this brings. Maybe in schools, I don't really know how, but the fact is the information needs to get out to these young souls before they start the journey down that wrong path. How many of you would have started messing with Internet porn if you knew then what you know now? I know I wouldn't have.

Just my opinion on the situation.

I agree with some of your comments. Sooner or later down the road there must some way to combat this issue before it becomes worse. I don't know who or what will be part of this new movement, but I'm glad we have no Nofap thus far. One of the best tools besides our voice I think is knowledge. Before I never heard of Nofap. I began to learn more about myself and what my addiction really meant. I was amazed to find out that not only were there changes in my brain, but it also involved changes in my physiological and psychological well-being. Tragically, it affected how I interacted with people especially girls because of how I view porn and women in general. Everything in my life from trying to learn to talk to girls to having possible relationships was a result from my addiction. And I'm sure many other guys feel the same way. Now I'm learning so much more about myself and the lives of other people. Now we know what do to stop these addictions since we have this knowledge. And in the end our voices will become stronger and we'll help others in need. That's my hope at least.

I think it will become similar to the various campaigns to stop smoking, (Tabbacco Free/Truth/Etc.) All of a sudden within the end of this year and more so next year, "experts" will come out and speak more about porn addiction and where it leads, possibly showing correlation between ED as a result of excessive masturbation. This will in the near future catapult other discussions.

I think by the end of this year it will be talked about more in social media as well. Just the other day in my newsfeed a friend of a friend posted one of those videos that with graphics show the link between porn and human trafficking/prostitution and how he quit porn. Which I am glad for.

I'd like to think so. But it can't be achieved just by attacking the porn industry and the current way of life. An alternative to that way of life must be provided, a way of life in which morality matters, love and friendship is elevated above sex, and people once again learn how to develop deep emotional bonds with one another. When this happens people will give up porn because they find it disgusting to view women and men as sex objects, to view material that takes away the humanity of the participants. If we want this alternative way to become the norm, rather than an alternative, then we must begin by living it ourselves.

    Hi Guys
for me, it's a simple method : first, Awareness - the more people know about the harmful effects of porn, the less people will use it. But then, it's the same war with cigarettes, alcohol and drugs... While's there's hope, there's life! Best

Let's just do what we can.

Spread the knowledge. I think it's spreading nicely already, but people still see it as something far-fetched, that doesn't touch their lives. Like when I saw this guy in LA Ink, who told about his porn addiction, I was like "bitch please, you can't get addicted to porn". How wrong was I. I've been trying to stop for a year now.

People are doomed, that's for sure. But I am optimistic, so I always see the light in the end of the tunnel. Maybe someday...

I wish that the culture of pleasure-seeking turns into soul-searching. That's the only way. We can't go back in evolution, only forward.
