I'm a 47 year old single male. Well I was single until about 3 weeks ago, just met someone

I'd been struggling with pornography and prostitution addiction for years. First alone, keeping it a shameful secret, then going to therapists, and a few years ago, I found the "Your brain on porn" website - but then as my addictions became weaker I stopped visiting it, thought I could manage by myself. I also attended Sexoholics Anonymous but that wasn't for me.

The damage done by pornography and prostitution is irreversible - it affected my personal life, I never was able to build a relationship longer than 3 years, never had any children although I always wanted some, it affected my relationships with friends, isolating myself from others, my professional life, for many years I was deeply insecure about my own possibilities and my capacity to bond with others, very important in my line of work, it took away so much time and precious life energy, and a few years ago I also started to have Erectile Dysfunction. I accept this as the necessary process I had to go through, to realize how I am and to become aware how p&p are modern-day slavery, objectifying women and creating a degrading images of them.

Another important milestone was "Why I stopped watching porn" by Ran Gavrieli at TEDx. BUT I (and all of us) live in the present and rejoice for what is given to us in this given moment so I'm happy to have found and joined NoFap, which is a simple and beautiful answer to all those questions linked with my addiction, somehow I felt it was the answer I was looking for when I was a young kid and discovered masturbation, and was trying to stop, thinking it affected my sex life in a negative way...

It's now the glorious morning of day 3, and I'm off for my next cold shower 3 days in a row. Best greetings to you all out there, let's make this a better world with NoFap, no consuming of pornography, no abuse of women through prostitution, let's take cold showers instead and make it a better world, individually and together.
