Well, it certainly does. I've been very religious from the age 12 to 18 (Islam). That's why I started masturbating at the age of 14 (quite late) and began to watch porn only when I turned 17 and it was very, very rare. From the age 18 up until 22 I considered myself an atheist and thats exactly when everything went out of control. Right now I'm trying to grow spiritually and learn about different philosophies, because I now understand that I need to fill that void with something in order to take full control over my life. Stoicism seems to work best and I'll try to work in this direction. Overall, being religious is a double-edged sword. You definitely gain a lot of willpower, but at the same time you willingly submit your imagination and critical thinking, which is why I quit. Even tho I sometimes envy my 16-year-old self.

 

Yea i agree. The main point that came through this story to me though, was how breaking the covenant took away his access to God’s strength and I think the same applies to us today when we break off our relationship with Jesus. Though not in a physical sense like it was with Sampson.

This world wd be worthless without God. I am gonna tell u something bro, i was like u practicing islam for my parents and i wasnt understanding. Praying became boring,i cdnt "have fun with girls", watch what i wanted etc etc
I left home and i was "free". I stopped praying little by little, and begin tp have "some fun". I became even worst than an animal: playing fapping eating. I was so pathetic. i spent a year playing and fapping. When i woke up i went to play till i get tired again. Then with all the subliminal messages in some games i ended up fapping on porn that disgusted me before ( the devil did a great work for sure). Ialmost watched so silly things that i won't name and one day God guided me- All praises are to Him- with a little video on youtube about a muslim called Ali banat, May Allah have mercy upon him. U can search for it. And this really made me change cuz i remember that death was chasing me and that one day I will have to face my acts.

I came to the decision to never argue on the topic of religion. I have watched all of the videos I could possibly find on youtube in different languages. I've read Koran multiple times from A to Z. In fact, my in-depth study of Islam is the very thing that led me to doubt everything. I wasn't just taught it from the early ages, I was explained and guided. I truly believed everything that is written in Koran and it wasn't an overnight shift. I have been intensively studying about my religion. Day after day that seed of doubt grew into something I couldn't ignore anymore. I am thankful for my parents and the way Islam has formed my personality. Yet, I have a rather scientific aproach on the world around me and when I apply it on 1400 year old book - it never ends in favor of the latter.

When I became a militant atheist I often found myself arguing with theists using logic and facts, which has never ended up great neither for me, nor for my opponents. I was never able to force my point of view on someone else. It's then when I realised that it's pretty much impossible to PROVE your own worldview. It is a BELIEF and the only thing that can change the person's mind is him. No amount of facts and logic will change what person truly believes (because belief is a fundamental feeling, not a reason). Besides, I have done the same thing when I was a muslim. After analysis of my behavior I came to understand the simple truth - I wasn't doing it to spread the "truth", but rather to prove myself right, because deep down I knew how insecure and doubtful I was about my own beliefs. I'm glad you have found your path and I hope you live this life to the fullest. All the best!

Some of the companions of the messenger ( may peace and blessing of God be upon him) came and said to him, oh messengers of Allah, sometimes we have this thoughts, we hate having this thoughts, we would never dare speak of them and we just want them to go away (doubts and other bad thoughts, even if they could see from their own eyes the messenger of Allah!). The prophet (saw) said are u really facing that? They said yes we are, He said that is clear faith, meaning that thx God that u deal with it the way you deal with it, know that Allah will reward u because the way u deal with it is a sign of iman in it of itself, because the devil is always going to whisper but the fact u are not allowing taht whisper to turn itself into action is a sign of clear and pristine faith.
The shaytan is always gonna whisper to u, u thought that " i am a muslim now he left me alone"? Its the opposite because u have faith he is gonna whisper even more, he doent need to whisper a lot to misguided people, these guys are the easy level for him.
But u are right on a point, if u don't wanna believe u wont believe like did pharaoh (“Today I will save your dead body so that you may be a sign for those who come after you.” Qur’an, 10:92).
I just feel so sad that i cant explain u properly this beautiful religion ( my english is quite limited ) and I hope that God will guide u in the Right path.
And a famous philosopher and scientist Francis Bacon, he said “That those who have little knowledge of science they become atheist, but those who have in depth knowledge of science they become a believer in God.”

 

About Christianity, I think alot of porn sites support satan,or insult Jesus,this is one reason I find porn disgusting....
