    Hey everyone.

I'm not super active in here, but slowly and in my own pace I'm working on minimizing my PMOing.
I'm on a good streak right now and haven't abstained from PMO for such a long time before (yay!).

BUT - I can already now feel that I look forward to when my goal is reached in some days, because then I'll be able to PMO again for a day or two and then maybe get back on the NoFap-wagon.

Can anyone relate to this urge to masturbate and watch porn again? I go easy on myself and sometimes allow porn in between some goals, but in some way it seems that this is kind of like doing NoFap at only 75%...
However right now I really can't see myself never watching porn or wanting to masturbate again..

I need some personal experiences and tips with all this!

    Thanks in advance.

    Good thoughts from Thyge

I don't know your story and how deep you are/were into PMO.

But let me tell you how I see it for myself: After more than 15 years of MPO, I have realized that I will never make any real progress in life or with my goals if I keep looking at porn. It's like the shortest plank in my barrel. I can pour water in it as much as I like, but if I keep this plank at porn size, I'll never be able to drink from my barrel. And that's because I use porn as a way of coping with life. Coping with bad moods. Coping with setbacks. Coping with challenges. It will always be easier to get my quick high, my quick fix than weathering out whatever storm tears at me. I'll always take the line of least resistance.

So, frankly, for me this means that if I'm serious about this, I will stop watching porn altogether. And, to be honest, that thought really really scares me right now. And that tells me I'm striking the right nerve.

hey there- congrats on coming so far with this all. your almost at 20 days, which is killer! from my experience with porn addiction as well as challenges with substance addiction, a lot of these feelings of romanticizing our vice, looking forward to our old vice, glorifying our vice seems to fade the longer one abstains. 30 days is challenging, but 60 days...90 days....well it actually gets way way easier....you are just further from your vice and you can see it clearly. I'd suggest simply hanging in here and possibly tackling a longer streak as you get closer to finishing this one. best of luck, and I hope this helps!

I would compare what you're describing to when smokers quit and they reward themselves with cigarettes. Does that make sense to you? Then why would you reward quitting PMO... with PMO? This is something that an addict brain does to itself to try and trick it back into the bad habit.

At least, that's the way I see it.

I know exactly what you mean... I did the same...
I pushed through though. Doesn't mean that the urges don't still come, but they get easier to push through...
It's a constant battle at the beginning.
You have to learn to fight, and fight hard!

I quit smoking 2.5 years ago and I never have any thoughts about cigarettes.

The more time that you put between you and the last time you did it, the more rational of a decision you can make if that's something that you really want to keep doing.

Honestly It's Hard Getting To 30 day. Way do you want to set yourself back after going so far. It's not easy as you are saying it going to be. Just 1 or 2 days and you will be back on the noPMO. Keep doing your streak and start looking towards the benefits of nofap

Everyone has different goals and methods that they are trying to achieve. I would say that looking at porn should be off everyone's list. Porn is what screws up your brain, why would you want to do something that screws up your brain? Perhaps in moderation it may be alright, but you are probably not hear because you can use porn in moderation. I'm assuming you are a porn addict like the rest of us.

As far as MO, I would say that's alright in moderation. The less MO the better. Go find a partner and experience love and sex the way it was meant to be. Life is about sharing experiences with others, not sitting alone MO.

A footnote to nomo's post: I suppose MO is OK in moderation, at least for most people (certainly not for others), but MO to your own memory of P images is as bad as PMO, in my view. You're still reinforcing the wrong wiring instead of shifting it to the new wiring.
