Just wanted to know if anybody has had any negative mood swings, either depression and/or anger with nofap or if there is a up down thing that goes on the further along you get?

I've only been reading stuff about depression based on the withdrawal of p/m. From what I read, it can be really hard on you mentally. People have described it as being unbearable.

All I have to say (this isn't from experience but by those who've been through it), it does get better. If you're really finding it unbearable and you don't think you can hold on, and something needs to break. Seriously, seek a doctor. Explain to them how you're feeling, you don't need to explain to them about your porn addiction, just talk to them about how you're feeling. They will give you something, it could take a bit of time to kick in.. it sometimes depends on different types of factors.

Take care of yourself fist of all. If you relapse, it's ok. You'll just be more prepared next time. You will beat this, it will take time like any addiction. Focus on what bring you joy, try and remove the negatives as best as you can.

    Good luck.

I'm on the end of day eight, and I've already had some mood-swings. I was prone to mood swings anyway, though, so they're probably unconnected.

I assume it is because we wired ourselves to believe that PMO was the only way to such pleasure. But as we go along this path we learn that there are different joys we can have in life. But it will take time :)

From what I've been reading, this is very common. A lot of us used PMO to relax and reduce anxiety. Without that outlet, we just make ourselves more anxious in the short-term. I know I kept craving it these past few weeks whenever I got nervous or anxious or bored. The trick will be to find other ways of reducing anxiety and stabilizing our moods. I found running to be a huge help with that, personally. I hope your mood swings improve!

bro its because before NoFap i assume you were fapping regularly like most of us and your body was attached with that emotion and now when you begin NoFap the emotion with which your brain and body was attached was not their so you need to replace that emotion with some other so do workouts and follow your dreams and chill it happens with everyone just relax and switch on the beast mode

When I started my nofap journey, I noticed a lot of anger, and after a while depression did set in. It does get better after a while though. It comes and goes and it does get easier. I think it's due to the fact that you brain is used to the overload of dopamine that PMO supplies. Suddenly that's gone, and your system doesn't know how to handle it. Hang in there dude.

As you get rid of the overload of sensation/dopamine from PMO you feel everything more. The Good and the Bad.

Don't go to a doctor because of it, they will tell you to "just masturbate, it is normal and healthy", because they have to learn that kind of nonsense. If they prescribe something, it will do you more harm than good.

  12. There is No Point In Feeling Depressed. Some Doctors only Know What's Written in Books,But All Doctors aren't so.They Know What's Right and What's Wrong. So Blaming all Doctors isn't a Right Thing. And Yeah,I Agree that our LIFE comes to Life when We Start This Journey of Being Clean.Every Thing starts to Have an Effect on Us.It's Good.We are Becoming Comfortable with Reality More and More.

Yes. It is a stage. With the PMO out of the equation, fill the void with productive activities.

In my experience things seem to slowly get better as the good days increasingly begin to out number the bad (depressed/angry) days. You've just got to hang in there and suck it up, it will get better!
