If so how has NoFap helped you?I wonder if having ADD/ADHD makes Nofap tougher

Yes sir, I do have ADD. Are you currently on medication?

I got back on mine before I attempted my NoFap journey, and I've never gone back to shunning it. It just helps me keep much more self-discipline. If you are currently not on meds, I would say without a doubt yes - it will be much more difficult.

PMO, in my experience, mimics the same symptoms of ADD, and therefore worsens them when you engage in it. The times when I stay away from porn, I see an equivalent boost in productivity and focus as I gained from getting back on meds. The day I allow myself to engage with PMO again is the day that I tend to slip back into all kinds of bad habits.

This has happened so consistently for me, even when I rationalized that it wouldn't happen this time around, that I have no doubt of the link between PMO and brain fog anymore.

My husband was seeing a psychologist to help with his ADHD. Turns out that all of his symptoms went away when he quit porn and video games! It was pretty crazy!! Porn and video games are making your ADHD symptoms worse or you might not have it at all.

    thanks for letting me know.
I'm not on any meds as of now.The journey does feel difficult.

@Limeaid That's quite interesting. My symptoms seem to have increased since my past 3-4 months of quitting video games and porn..or maybe I have gotten more aware about my symptoms.

I was diagnosed at a young age, but I think it has more to do with a brain injury than anything. I was born with the umbilical wrapped round my neck, so my arrival into this world was pretty sketchy. I have my bad days where I can't really focus on anything, but I don't think of ADHD as anything other than a diagnosis and filler for a few pages in the DSM manual. Other than that, it's something that's more often than not used as an excuse.

Well I grew up with it as a kid. I can't really say I grew OUT of it but I guess it was not as severe. On the times I fapped, it would randomly just kick in, where I can't keep my mind straight regardless of how hard I tried, it was really frustrating and scary. I guess with NoFap, I haven't really encountered it again. Idk if it was my lack of severity for the mental illness or the extension of will power I revieved from giving up PMO. Maybe both

I don't have ADD, but I do have a mental health disorder: bipolar disorder. There's 2 of them and I have the second one which is less severe and deals more with depressive moods rather than high moods like Robin Williams for instance. Having a mental illness does suck ass and I do believe Nofap makes it a lot harder. Meds can help a third of your mental health, but the rest has to come from you. I take medication to sleep and the fact that no pmo can cause symptoms of anxiety, the inability to sleep, and other shit makes it worse. There are times when I feel a little hyper and I have racing thoughts like crazy, but it's rare unlike ADD. I don't know what to tell you. Just exercise, eat a healthy diet, keep a productive life style, don't do drugs, relieve your stress, etc. And please take your meds on a regular basis. You need it so you can mentally function. As for Nofap, I'm in the same boat as you are pal. Good luck.

  8. I have ADHD and in the three days so with with no fapping I've felt the brain fog recede a bit. Hoping to get back on meds soon, been without them for too long.
