    Greetings!

I am looking for a way to make access to porn more difficult, so that it won't be that easy for me to view my favourite videos from my older PMO habits. I do not consider a browser setting for that, as I can easily remove it. A way to make access to porn sites a time-requiring proccess is something I would settle for. I also wish to continue using google as my browser, but I am not that adamant on that.

I am eager to hear your ideas!

I used to install a software called "K9 web protection". You can google it. It provides a free license and blocks porn and suggestive sites.

It is removed using a password that you setup on the install process, but to avoid removing it you can try the following:

    1) configure a password that reminds you not to remove the blocker. For example use "PornIsForLosers" or "YouWillNeverBeFree" or something that put offs from deactivating the blocker. It worked for me.

    2) make someone else configure the password so that only that person (and not you) know. This is less convenient, but more secure.

    3) write a very long and difficult password so that it requires quite some time to write it and copy it on a piece of paper of something. If you try to unlock the blocker when you have an urge, you'll likely be put off because typing the password will be difficult.

    Hope it helps

I have done 6 days with k9 even I knew how to easily overcome it. Now I am 25 (nearly) days with no porn blocker whatsoever. You need to build porn blocker from your own mind.

This worked for me and it will work for you.

After your return from work/school whatever, leave your laptop and your cell phone in the car and park far away that it will seem like a chore to get to your car.

Let's be fucking real right now....You dont get important phone calls other than your mom or a few friends from your group chat. Everyone is about themselves. They will not miss you at all. And, you shoud learn to be independent, this is an amazing way to get there.

I PMO at night, and, I dont receive any important phone calls nor do i need the laptop at night. I can finish all my work during the day sitting in a cafe with wifi. So, by accident, i left my laptop in my car a few times by a lot of grass full of insects and at night i just dont wanna deal with that shit. I went 5 days easy. Then, i decided to stop this habit and i relapsed the same day.

I am about to implement this pretty soon. My advice do this for a few weeks. Learn to silence that mind and enjoy the basics of life. Reinforce that being free from porn and masturbation is better than internet and phone. Kick 3 addictions all at once. It works, try it.

Yea leave ur devices that can access the internet away until you're a month or so in and have more control. Alternatively you'll get so sick of relapsing like me and be able to muscle through the urges just by remembering how shit you feel after relapse and how it's not worth it. Good luck

    3 simple steps:
    1. Use OpenDNS or Norton internet security dns.
    2. Install cold turkey, download the porn sites list from reddit and set the timer to 50 years.
    3. Use the hosts file to block the same porn sites.

This could be helpful,i've done this but sexual content is everywhere,On tv,shows, movies, newspaper, torrent sites etc. Still i legit suggest doing this as you will not be able to access porn instantly, and bypassing cold turkey software also takes time,it will probably put sense into us of what we are about to do and don't relapse.

K9 doesn't work efficiently anymore, its admin page crashes in windows 10,leaving you unable to access anything. I don't recommend it anymore to anyone, they are not even putting out updates.

For mobile phones,if you have android you just root your phone and patch the hosts file like you do in your pc/laptop with the help of ES File manager available for free and then uninstall it,i have not watched porn on my phone for months via doing this.

Or make a decision in your mind not to use porn again.

  8. I currently have Open DNS porn blocker installed on my home internet system, and gave my login information to my AP. I made up a new Yahoo email account associated with the Open DNS, and gave that also to my AP so that I can't email myself to change the password. I made all these things too long for me to remember. This system doesn't effect my Windows phone, but my phone is too small to make viewing porn on it worthwhile. I was talking to someone on here who said he had multiple porn blockers set up, so that getting through each one is an extra hurdle

    @vjbu

sort of off topic but not really.

Id suggest that trying to make porn more difficult to access is just a band aid (not to mention its near impossible, porn triggers are everywhere)

Your brain will simple start to spend time coming up with ways to get around and/or figure out subsitutes for any porn you roadblock, for some other porn which you haven't. Thus keeping your brain focused on getting porn (maybe even more so).

Don't fight with urges/cravings (they are tough competitor) , just change your relationship with them. This puts you in control of the urges vs the urges being in control of you.

I agree that blocking porn is difficult and by no means the end all solution. But it does help and contributes to recovery for some.

For me for example, when I used blocking software and found myself trying to find means to deactivate it, that made me think "See how bad is this, how addicted you are, you need help". That humbled me and sometimes (not always) it helped to stop me from lusting.

Of course a mindset change, a mind blocker and all that is the goal. But I found that blockers were helpful at some point.

Yes I remember when I used the IOS blocker Liberate which I set to block pornhub and many other mainstream sites. I would eventually give in and search on fishy websites and occasionally MO to google images.

The addiction is all in the mind so that is where I believe the barrier should be.

    Stay strong! :)
