    Hey all,

I'm a male in my late 20's with an addiction to porn/masterbating. Everyday I follow this same habitual nonsense: get home from work, eat, search for some porn, jack off, sleep, repeat the cycle. I feel like a slave to my sexual desires, although I can't change not having to work atm, I feel if I can break the chains of my urges, I'll have more mental clarity and direct that energy towards other things I want to improve on.

I'm not sure if this will 100% work, I'm not convinced we can ever fully escape our primal instinct for sexual satisfaction. It's not like you'll make more friends/find a gf/find any fulfillment from removing something that has conditioned you for so long, so I dont expect miracles from changing, but the routine has worn me down and has to stop.

    Thanks for reading. :D

    Hello friend,
You are in the right place. You can find freedom from your addiction and restore healthy sexual thinking.Keep coming back, stay connected, starve the addiction, and ask God for help along the way. Have a good day.

Hello TurnTides. I am also new to this and have a similar pattern to you. I have read somewhere that the best way to change a habit is to replace it with something else. Is there some activity that you can replace the the porn time slot with on a consistent basis? Reading, learning a new skill, martial arts, going to church, working out.......

I don't think we need to fully escape our primal instinct for sexual satisfaction as you put it. Rather I would argue that we should be in control of our sexual desires and our lives, not have it control us. Yes you are correct that stopping masturbating will not in it self make you get new friends or a girlfriend. When your nofap counter reaches 100 the sky will not part with hotties and bro's descending from haven to hang out with you. But you will have learned self control, freed up time, energy and gained some confidence. That will enable you to more efficiently make new friends and get a girlfriend. That's my thoughts at least.

Just wishful thinking lol. Many get caught up in this end goal, like life adjusts itself for you. I guess I just need to slow it down, kingdoms were not made overnight I suppose.

Thanks for the bit of wisdom :D
