Vasectomy

    Evening all....

    I’m planning to have a vasectomy soon, currently I’m 23days in, however my doc has said that 12 weeks after the op I have to send a sperm sample to check the op was a success, will this count as a relapse???
    I know after I’ve done it I can start my nofap streak again and carry on as I am,
    I’m totally over porn, (wasn’t a massive prob for me anyway), and the non fapping has given me so much already in terms of confidence,energy clarity, sense of good feeling, ambition etc,
    What do you guys think?

    It doesn't sound to me like there is much to discuss. Is there any reasonable way to obtain a sample without masturbating? Is there any chance this masturbation requirement will sway you from getting vastecomy altogether? If you dont get tested post OP what are the chances the procedure didnt work?

    I think you will probably give the sample by masturbation and then pick up your streak again as you mentioned. I doubt this "relapse" with have a terrible impact in the long run. It's not clear what options you are really giving yourself practically.

    Sounds like you are going to have to do it for medical reasons. Since it's a full 12 weeks after the operation, I wouldn't make any decisions now about whether you will reset your streak - cross that bridge when you come to it. By then, if you've kept it up, you'll be past the 90 day reboot. Just make sure not to use porn ... and watch the hell out for the chaser effect.
