Sadly, slipped after 168 days of no PMO. Now resetting counter. First goal is 30 days hard mode.

I don't think it's sad that you slipped. I think it's amazing that you made it to 168 days. Well done buddy.

168 days is more then most of us have accomplished, congratulations. I consider you the pro here, do you have any advice on how you felt different by making 168 days? Can you share what caused you to relapse after 168 days. Again, one relapse is nothing to worry about, I'm sure you learned so much in that time. Please share if you feel it would be helpful.

Continue on the journey, you are strong and will reach your goals.

Thanks nomo, I will be happy to share my experience.

I felt different in following ways :
    1. Much less social anxiety and increased confidence levels.
    2. In general I feel more happy and relaxed.
    3. Things which were making me stressed and depressed earlier have much less effect now.
    4. I have been able to reach closer to my dream job, I attribute this to better concentration because of no PMO.
    5. Brighter eyes and healthier hairs.

    Why I relapsed ?
I think the main factor was complacency and lack of attention due to that. Probably I thought that it is easy to control urges and I was off guard when a strong wave of urges carried me away.

Lessen learnt is this : do not underestimate the power of urges even if you have much experience in controlling them. Stay on guard, monitor your thoughts and activities continously.Keep your goals in your mind. Satisfying urges do not end them, but it act like adding fuel to the fire.

    Hello active.monkey,

Thanks for the reply. All the benefits you have experienced sound wonderful and I hope to feel most of them soon. I'm thinking it will be around 90-days before the benefits you have described kick in for me. Whenever the reboot takes place. Currently I feel better everyday for many reasons, but the biggest benefit right now is that I'm not spending time wasting my life looking at porn.

Here's something that I heard the other day, I think it's true. The word "monkey" is so imbedded into our culture that most people will read it or here the word monkey everyday. Well, you have covered my monkey quota for today.

    Take care.

"Satisfying urges do not end them" absolutely brilliant advice. That really struck a chord with me. Well done.

    Starting again...yes indeed.

This is the first time I've posted in a while. Have been relying on web filters to keep my access clean for a while, but have started to find soft material to replace it and have been PMOing to that way to much now for the filters to be having the right affect.
Removed them completely last night and have been on a long binge almost all day now that having access to this stuff for the first time in a while. Now I feel aweful, my head is in a mess and I've wasted all that time which really needed to be spent productively. Even ignored my friends calls after arranging to meet up already.
NOW I remember the bad path that all this leads to, it is no way to live your life. Just one day of it and I need escape already. There is no end to the addiction once you're viewing.

Time to set fresh goals and look ahead again.

So what's the answer, what specific plan should be in place to deal with an urge after a long streak? Like I definitely think that I relapsed at 37 days because I got too confident in myself.

Hi ght5! I think answer should be not to let urges trick our mind after a long streak. Remembering the guilt feeling when we relapsed last time, may help in staying strong.
