  14. It's no PMO. If you have sex with you gf or wife, thats ok. You have to look at it like, am I using this for sex and am I using this thing sexually to feel better because I don't want to deal with something else.

    Our habits are that we've taken to sex to feel good and escape life. We're stopping pmo and finding more healthy ways to deal with our issues. Some times people stop pmo then go off using one night stands and prostitutes to substitute for it. That doesn't work. You have to be honest with yourself but also don't beat the crap out of yourself if you didnt know this or feel otherwise.
     
  15. I had a check in with my coach the other day and I was saying that I get into these bad emotional states and have trouble getting out of them. I have a list of things to do in those moments like focus on gratitude or things that are positive. Those are things that are meant to help us in those moments but honestly they're not working as well as I want.

    He pointed out that I cannot use logic to attack emotions, it just doesn't work. I need to use emotion to attack emotions. Gratitude works when you feel it not just when you write down 3 things you're grateful for.

    My brain then kicks in and says how do I turn on the emotions. My logical brain of course haha

    He then suggested that I find something that really invokes it in me and use that. I've found that if I look at pictures of my gf and I and her daughter having fun on vacation, I start to feel love. That's when I can really feel it. He said find those things and make a list to use when you need it.

    It's like if you want to laugh, you just don't sit there and laugh, you go watch or listen to something funny and then you laugh.

    Anther helpful thing he said was to start anchoring those good emotions so that you can use the anchor to get back to that place faster. Like if everytime you watch something funny and laughed, you lightly squeezed the end of your pinky, you'd create a neural association to squeezing your pinky which would invoke laughter. Once you got it down you could do it on a whim without even watching anything. If I had that super power, anytime I'd feel hurt I could use that to change my state and get back to ground.

    This is all NLP if you've not heard of it before.

    Anyway, thought you might like that.

  17. Great job man. Yeah its hard to shut it off completely. It might help to make a detailed list as to why you dont want to go to a prost. Review it everyday so its fresh on your mind. Good luck

    Thats a really good point from your coach. I have the exact same issue as you described: that I sometimes get into bad states and find it hard to change them. I will definitely give that approach a try
