Hello. I first started nofap a couple years ago. I first went three months, took a couple months off, then went six months, took six months off, and now I'm starting over in week 1. I feel like it's caused me a lot of health side effects all the times I've done it--heavy sweating and teeth grinding mainly. My junk also seems to shrink, and I've repeatedly worried that I would lose sexual function all together. But I'm not so worried about that any more. It seems my sack dies after a month or so, and then it takes a week to wake it back up to normal function. But in the mean time, I maintain extraordinarily high testosterone levels. This has a lot of fun upsides, like I can feel my body mass shift to more muscular seemingly automatically, without any exercise, and I feel like I have an automatic appeal with women, except when they see me grinding my teeth, and then I have to come up with some excuse for being frustrated. What worries me most though is that I get chest pains. I'm a smoker, so I don't have great cardiovascular health in the first place. Part of me suspects that nofap actually strengthens my heart, and I'm just experiencing pain related to exercise, in a sense. I'm sure it boosts my metabolism through the roof, as I've lost a ton of weight throughout nofap sessions (which I subsequently regained when I fell off the wagon). Any opinions on this? Should I be worried?

This is mostly speculation, but i believe that fapping numbs your body and masks any physical problems you have. It is the body saying - "yes there are problems, but we are producing offspring, that is more important right now."
So on one hand this is great - you get something like a pain killer for free. On the other hand, like every pain-killer it comes with side effects and it probably means those problems are not being fixed efficiently.
On starting nofap all these problems come to the surface and want to be fixed asap. This is why people are having so different experiences and though times.

So the fact that you only have the chest pains when doing nofap would mean it is nothing too serious. Not smoking might help with it though.
Your hibernating balls strike me as more weird. Mine actually seem larger after a week.

That's an interesting way of looking at it, but I don't know if it could be entirely true. I also get intense muscle soreness, and after a few weeks, you can hear every muscle in my body popping as I walk, and I get such a stiff neck that I have to shake it around, popping it. I think it's the result of increased activity from higher testosterone, but you're right that I shouldn't necessarily view this as a problem. Rather, the exhausted, ultra-relaxed state I've spent most of my life in, from compulsively fapping 12 times a day is the problem. So I figure long term nofap would cause my body to adjust eventually.

I figure in the olden days when people didn't fap so much, everybody was much healthier back then. I do kinda see it as retaining your chi and life force, in a way, and it's like I just can't handle having all that chi. Exercising definitely helps to burn off the extra energy. I also speculate that if you wanted to view it as a matter of your chi, then eating a diet of mostly fruits and vegetables is the best way to go, as your body is producing a positive energy, instead of feeding on death, as with meat.

As for the state of my junk, it's real hit and miss. At times, I've developed a kind of body dysmorphia, which is going to happen any time your body changes its shape repeatedly and rapidly. This goes for my junk as well. My penis goes from tiny and shrunken to bigger than it's ever been, as well as my testicles, but it's oddly correlated with my emotional state. If I feel manly, it's reflected in my junk. At other times, my balls get really sore, hard and small. Palpitating my region helps. People have also observed that I act like a woman at times, with my emotions strongly fluctuating, and this is to be expected: ejaculation is the parallel of ovulation, so by limiting ejaculation we're causing the same sort of hormonal spiking that women experience throughout their cycle. I even suspect that if we timed our releases to correspond to the ovulation of our women that it might help us synch up with them emotionally. But it could also be disastrous. Two PMS-ing people at war with each other would not be good.

Bad anxiety and nervousness can cause chest pains. For me, anxiety led to GERD which led to heart attack mimicking symptoms, which scared the hell out of me.

If you suspect it's your heart, you should see a doctor, for peace of mind at the very least.

Thanks for the comment, I mean my breathing is normal all the time but I have strong pressure 24/7 in the bottom part of my chest on both sides. Like there is something, and it is very uncomfortable.
