As far as I'm aware, when abstaining from PMO, that implies stopping all porn, masturbation, and reaching climax. When you masturbate, you will more than likely find the urge to masturbate to pornographic material.

It is best to abstain from masturbation altogether, because masturbation can also cause sensitivity loss in your penis. This sensitivity will only return once you stop PMO'ing.

I thought that masturbating to porn only causes sensitivity loss in the penis, not masturbation alone? wtf?

I would stay away from PMO all together. Do not touch yourself. Meet some women and get into a relationship. Save your energy for that.

Thanks for the advice guys! Yes i agree now... The other day I tried to masturbate without porn but that only lasted that day because it was not the same as watching porn so the next day I went back to porn and masturbation... I guess one leads me to the other... So if I have to leave both...

The general rule is if you can get and maintain an erection with pornographic material, see if you can get and maintain an erection without the use of pornographic material (using just your hand and your, well...imagination) if you can't, you have PIED. Now, if you can get an erection with and without pornographic material, but you can't with your partner, than you have performance anxiety.

The sad thing is that this mental health issue isn't advocated enough in schools and in general. The other sad thing is you will only discover the problem once you meet the person you want to spend the rest of your life with, this was my case. Pornographic material is toxic, your brain will continue to decay if you continue to consume it.

Can the same be said if you have PIED, if you can masturbate to orgasm with porn but have a shitty semi or soft erection and not a full one only with porn?

Are you saying that with porn, you're only able to maintain a semi erection?

  9. It gets worse than that in the end. Severe addicts like me ended up fapping with a limp cock.

I'm in a long distance relationship at the moment, and the first time I tried having sex with my partner, I couldn't get an erection. I don't think I have anxiety of any nature, I think I have PIED. I'm 12 days into my streak at the moment.

When you try and get an erection without porn, do you need to put more effort into it? are you able to get an erection using your imagination alone (no hands)?

If you can get an almost instant erection with the use of porn, but not without, I would say you have a mild case of PIED. If you think you have anxiety, the first thing you need to do is communicate with your partner about your anxiety. Once your partner understands your problem, you'll be under less pressure to 'perform' under the bed sheets. You can both then agree to take things slow.

Other factors may be relationship issues or work/personal stress related problems, amongst a few others. It may also be diet related.
