The difference between success and failure?

I've seen some people on here who have multiple years of reboot recovery.

I've seen some people who have struggled to get more than a few days.

Is there something that separates the two extremes -- is it religion, spirituality, the levels of desperation, a moral thing, a clear programme, good luck, better circumstances, a better environment?

I've seen literally hundreds of people come and go on here -- and I've been one of them myself -- so the question is, is there one thing that determines the difference between success and failure?

i think it all comes down to the individual's breaking point. When someone reaches their breaking point, they would do anything to change their situation, which is why you see people who are years into their recovery. The others who may relapse 10 days in, may not have reached their breaking point yet, which is why they keep relapsing. Some may have to fail 10 times before they make the decision to actually stop for the rest of their lives, it just depends on how willing they are to go through pain to get to the other side
