One of the main drivers for persisting with NoFap was the experience I had from drinking Ayahuasca. For anyone who doesn't know: Ayahuasca is an entheogenic brew made out of Banisteriopsis caapi vine and other ingredients.[1] The brew is used as a traditional spiritual medicine in ceremonies among the indigenous peoples of the Amazon basin.

One of the pre-requisites for drinking this brew is that you should abstain from sexual activity 2 weeks prior, so I managed a 3 week stint before hand and it lasted another 45 or days after. I'm certain that it was noFap which helped me to navigate the Ayahuasca journey - which was at times extremely difficult. I could literally feel the inne sexual energy manifesting itself in the form of light. I had the constant feeling that something was telling me "you must continue to preserve you sexual energy because the rewards are great" - so here I am 5 years later still going strong.

I've not seen any post that mention Ayahuasca here before so was wonderin if any of you fellow fapstonauts were familiar with it and how it's related to our struggle

Great to see another person that knows Ayahuasca. I also had some ceremonies where i preserved my sexual energy and it manifested during the journey allowing me to go really deep.

The message i get is simular, use your sexual energy wisely, its powerfull.

I drank a lot of aya and am guiding ceremonies now :p

    Bless up :emoji_v:

I'm glad you've had a positive experience with Aya as I did. Where do you guide your ceremoinies out of interest? I managed to home brew it myself a few times with trial and error, although the experience was somewhat milder. Feel like I'm getting that "calling" again

Im guiding in the Netherlands at a retreat centre called om-mij. Somewhere in April i will also start working for another centre. I will go to peru in a couple years and go in training with shamans, then i'll start up my own thing

Brewing yourself is trial and error indeed, never did it myself yet but know a lot of people who do it. Just be patient with it and see what you have to change with brewing.

When aya calls you better listen :p. How many times did you drink?

  6. If I were you I wouldn't. Everybody loves getting into all this new age spiritual stuff but most people dont realize you can suffer serious negative spiritual consequences.

I read all of your threads about your experience with the super natural and it sounds like you're way more spiritually sensitive than the average person. I'm in the same boat as you are because i've experienced paranormal phenomena all my life. I loved hallucinogenic drugs and I've done tons of LSD, Mescaline, C2B and foxy which kicked my perception into high gear in for a while. I enjoyed all of my experiences including the bad trips but in the end, the purpose of these drugs are to put you in contact with entities from other planes of existence that you have not business being in contact with. I picked up a very negative entity that stuck with me for some years and It took reconnection with Jehova and tons of prayer and fasting to get rid of it.

I hear alot of people talking about how much they enjoyed DMT and Ayawasca but I believe them but I know more than a few people who have suffered serious spiritual problems that have not gone away and are now haunted by demonic entities. I'm not saying there are no benefits or don't do it but i've never heard anyone who promotes ayawasca talk about the potential risks so you should consider these possibilities before you try it if you ever have te opportunity.

  7. Glad i met someone who also is sensitive like me, i dont plan on trying dmt, its of the devil i believe, i had a dark night of the soul because of my dabbling with spiritual meditation, and i know dmt is connected to that.

  8. In the bible the use of drugs (Phamakia=Pharmacy) was strictly forbidden becaus`e if you have the spirit of Jehova, you have authority over sickness and the entities that cause it. Drug use was considered straight up sorcery. As the OP stated, indigenous people in the Amazon used these drugs as a shortcut to enter higher states of conciousness, but witches and occultist in every continent had different forms of narcotic roots, tree barks and various plants that put people in contact with the spirit world. I was heavily involved with hallucinogens but some of these other substances make acid and mescaline look like kid stuff because you're in contact with the spirit world but you're still in your natural environment. Apparently DMT is nest level. For a while I was dead set on trying it but since then, i've met a couple of people who told me about the havoc it caused in their lives and that was enough to change my mind.

What did your dark night of the soul involve?

  11. I went through something like this for a couple of years. I always felt Gods conviction but after a few years of frequent Drug use, dark occult literature, horror movies, tons of porn and constant smoking, I felt the presence of a very evil entity in my place. I didn't realize that my girlfriend was also into witchcraft and i think all the time I spent with her wasn't helping matters. I lived alone and at one point I was always making excuses to stay with family and friends. I've experienced more intense visitations before but nothing this consistent. I took a break from most of this stuff and it subsided though I didn't leave the porn alone entirely.

  12. It's super hard but anything that isn't hard usually isn't worth anything. I believe I have been delivered from my porn addiction before but I ignorantly went back to it out of stupidity and boredom. I was dependent on it, I enjoyed it and honestly wanted to go back to it. Last year I completed my longest streak with PMO, weed and sex and I honestly feel like I'm ready to leave it alone.

  16. I've heard some people use psychedelics for treatment of addictions and mental health disorders. I was using them to get faded, lol. You probably have to have some kind of healing intention but if your PMOing during the same time period then I'm sure your not going to get the benefit.

  17. Yah psychedelics to me were a way to experience crazy things you cant see normally, my curious spirit loves strange things.

There is a difference between "drugs" and what nature gives us. (And if you are religious then i assume you believe God created nature himself)

These demons you're speaking of are inside you.. When you vibrate low you attract low energies so don't demonize everything. You have to be ready for things like Ayahuasca and DMT. Also intention is a big factor, plus set and setting. You don't take this to get "faded", its not always a good time, hard work is required during these ceremonies.

Ayahuasca has helped me a great deal in combination with NoFap to grow as a person.

Couldn't agree with this more. I would say my set (or mindset, if you prefer) and setting during my psychedelic experiences have determined how things went overall as much as the dosage did (if not more).

Mindset: if I go into one of these experiences as though it were a completely recreational thing (or to get "faded" as another user mentioned), I might have a hard time making sense of what's going on. It might be easy for me to think that challenging thoughts or uncomfortable emotional experiences are demons, evil entities, or something along those lines. However, if I talk about my expectations for the experience ahead of time and dive into the experience with a specific intention in mind, I have a point of reference to compare things to, and I know I'll have a more grounded point of view when I reflect on my experience after it's over. Even if things are challenging, frightening, or uncomfortable (I've never had a psychedelic experience without at least some discomfort), I know I'll be able to work through it because I've prepared myself for it mentally.

Setting: if I go into one of these experiences in a place I am completely unfamiliar with, with people I don't know (or don't trust), and in a time in my life where I am neglecting other responsibilities or obligations, I will probably have a very difficult experience. However, if I go into it in a place I know well (or, at least, a place I feel comfortable in), with people I trust, and in a time in my life where I can take a day (or two) off without interfering with my other obligations and responsibilities, then I will feel much more comfortable overall.

Mindset and setting are incredibly important. I would also add that integrating your experience with the rest of your life is really important. I've met people who experiment with psychedelics (especially with DMT) who have a lot of trouble integrating the experience with the rest of reality. To me, integration is about reflecting on what happened, accepting it for what it is, and being able to separate what you experienced under the influence from the rest of your normal, everyday experiences. If I meet someone who feels like there are still demons, aliens, or spirits haunting them long after using DMT, I would say that person is having a difficult time distinguishing between what they saw while under the influence and what they are experiencing in their everyday lives.

Make sure you're spelling ayahuasca correctly.

Nevertheless, you bring up a really good point here. People who have tried psychedelics can sometimes be really enthusiastic about the benefits of these chemicals, but will simultaneously ignore or gloss over the associated risks with using them.

Yes, there are associated risks with using psychedelics. Personally, I believe a lot of the associated risks could be minimized by securing a healthy mindset and an appropriate setting before tripping. However, even if you do that, there may still be a risk if you (or others in your bloodline) have a history with poor mental health. If you have a predisposition for certain mental health problems, psychedelics have been reported to sometimes catalyze those problems (or, if you already have those problems, exacerbate them). It's important to acknowledge these risks, look into your own mental health history (including those of your family members), and decide for yourself whether you think you're being reckless by using psychedelics.
