  1. Interested in what people think. I think the fantasy would be that there would be no consequences. But the reality doesn't bear that out, for us NoFappers

  2. Nope as a christian thats not an option.

What a silly question. Porn takes time to watch. Time you can spend doing other things. Even if it didn't have any other negative consequences, why should I spend time on it, when other things make my life much better than porn ever could?

  4. What if you literally had all the time in the world so that you also had time to do all the other things you wanted to do, plus watch porn?

Haha, you're good at fantasizing! Me, I like to live in reality. Life is already too short to spend it imagining impossible scenarios.

Well, if you ask if it would be okay, then yes, sure, it would be okay for me. The negative consequences are the problem. I wouldn't even be here to see this question.

The thing is, it's just impossible for me to not have these negative consequences and watch the fetishized porn which I watched. Even if PIED wasn't a thing, there's still this whole objectification of the women issue, wrong ideas about sex, etc. There are some "normal" kinds of porn, which depict realistic sex, but I simply don't watch it, it's not interesting for me. It's just like erotic scenes in the movies, I see no problem if I occasionally stumble upon them, but they don't even raise any urge to masturbate in me.

I have hit with some triggers from the last day, some momories I can't control it now. Its keeps coming again and again and so strong. It's not natural that the first problem we all know that and always escalate to release high amount of dopamine for a new addict or people like us. It worst, no need to entertain the thought of " if Were No Negative Consequences to Using Porn". When I read it I felt it to be a trigger.

  11. Look, I know if I could do it from time to time, I would. I eat McDonalds from time to time. I never feel terrific after, but I accept the craving, go for it, and don't think about it for another four or five months. If only....

Even if there were no negative consequences like brain fog PIED etc... it would still waste my time. Time I could spend with loved ones or getting ahead in life.
Atop of that I want to share my sexuality with my partner, not with my left hand.
    So no, I would not.

If there weren't negative consequences, it simply wouldn't be porn. I almost think that's part of the appeal that draws us towards it in the first place: that it's something "bad" or something "you're not supposed to be doing".

Even though my gut reaction says that your question is impossible to answer, I'm trying to take it as seriously as I can. Some other people have touched on this issue in this thread already, but part of the problem is that there are simply other (more important) things you can be doing with your time. Even if there were no psychological or physiological disadvantages to using porn, it would still consume your time. Opening one door almost always means closing another, and some of the other unopened doors in my life are far more worth opening than the one containing porn.

I also saw your response to that line of thinking, where you asked:
If I literally had all the time in the world, I wouldn't be alive. Part of what it means to be a living creature is that you will die at some point. Part of what it means to be human is that you will not exist forever. I think once you have to take this thought experiment to the point of making yourself immortal just to be able to legitimately ask the question "what if porn had no negative side effects", you've shown that removing all the negative side effects of porn also removes what makes you human in the first place.

Let's all pretend we aren't political correct for a moment. To a certain degree men 'objectify' women and women 'objectify' men. I see nothing harmful in that. Sometimes people are just attracted to the body and there is nothing wrong with that. And that's not a male-exclusive thing. Not everyone has a great personality and some people don't even have a personality, and there probably are people who enjoy being objectified.
I am not against saying that objectifying too much is a problem, but making it a black-or-white issue doesn't sit well for me. Being attracted to big boobs or ripped abs may well be 'objectifying' but that's just harmless.

  15. I can control most things like poor eating, smoking weed and drinking.
But I have to cut out all porn.

Um, no, it's just where I want it to be =) You know, I highlight those words which I would stress if spoke it out loud.

Well, I wouldn't call the attraction to certain physical traits the objectification. Objectification is when I see nothing but the bodily features, it's when I ignore the person's needs, wishes, feelings and such. I sure agree that liking big breasts is not harmful by itself (that is, unless you do something you shouldn't because of that), but liking big breast has nothing to do with objectification. Objectification is not about what I like in their bodies, it's about how I treat them.

  18. I think I probably would. Because then literally what would be the harm. For a long time, I was blissfully unaware of any negative consequences. But then last year things started escalating. Then I discovered NoFap and learned about all kinds of other negative consequences. And honestly part of the difficulty of recovering from porn has been this wanting to get back to a state of being blissfully unaware, but that's not possible anymore

This is really a question of "is porn intrinsically bad and immoral, or is it bad and immoral because of its negative consequences". A lot of people on here seem to want to quit porn because they believe that there will be "superpowers", so really it's the same question of "what do I get" out of quitting porn. It has to be worthwhile for a lot of people. And I'm not saying that's a bad thing.

  19. Personally I never put much stock in the super powers thing. I did this because of the negative affects it had on my relationship with my wife, on me and my life.
