I started watching porn at age 13, and watched almost every day for 8.5 years. I am currently 11 months in to my reboot but I am still feeling anxiety. I need advice. Would you consider this is a severe addiction? And also, how much longer do I need to go to see results and rid the anxiety? Is there still room for improvement in the neuropathways? Looking for people with experience.

If you have not PMO'd for 11 months, and you are suffering from serious anxiety, you have a natural anxiety disorder, and you should go to a doctor about it.

  3. 17 months and the anxiety slowly fades but I had it terribly at one point with constant racing thoughts, terrible breathing and others.

  4. I think can be still pmo withdrawal, as you were addicted sincle long time. For sure we can only tell after 1,5- 2 years of no pmo.

What other symptoms you have? How is your sleeping?

My sleeping is fine. I do have a feeling of craving in my head like it needs a dopamine hit. Im looking for answers.

  7. Well at 11 months my head cleared up a little I started to remember things a bit more, anxiety decreased a tiny bit it was a breakthrough from the past 10 months as I felt like COMPLETE SHIT. From 11 to now it’s been up and down. I’m doing much better now and starting to sleep well. Hang on mate, you won’t feel better going back to porn that’s for sure.

  8. Yeah, that craving induces the anxiety. You need to find a way to stop that craving. All i can tell what works well for me, reading aloud, exercise, snapping my cheeks with my fingers to cause pain.

We long term addicts got brain damage that heals not that fast as we wish.
So you said you sleeping fine, what about your digestion?

Actually since i can remember (so the past 10 years or so) ive had bad indigestion. This meaning that after I eat i can easily cough and regurgitate into my mouth. Also Is it possible for my taste buds to be damaged by internet porn? Ive had a growing suspicion of that as food has started to taste better recently.

  10. Wow, and you still sleeping fine? PMO cause nervous system/brain damage, so it possible food will have better taste, and your nose will work better.

Your digestion is also probably messed up thank to the addiction. When was the last time you taken antibiotics? The nervous system should regulate what bacteria lives in your gut, but because an addict is always stressed your nervous system has not paid much attention to that, your gut gone wild.
And those bugs if get out of control will send up chemicals to your brain to make keep you stressed, because if you stressed that mean they can still do whatever they want.

So in short if you would try to fix your gut with diet changes, and lifestyle changes and you should notice some benefits in anxiety, but wont be a miracle, because your main problem is your addicted brain. I do not adivice to start taking probiotic pills. Just change your diet a bit, and add some herb/spices that you tolerate and got antibiotic effect, just to kill off the too many bacteria. Also pancreatic enzyms can be good for few weeks, those can kill excess bacteria too. At least you will have a bacteria meal thanks to them!
