I started watching porn at age 13, and watched almost every day for 8.5 years. I am currently 11 months in to my reboot but I am still feeling anxiety. I need advice. Would you consider this is a severe addiction? And also, how much longer do I need to go to see results and rid the anxiety? Is there still room for improvement in the neuropathways? Looking for people with experience.

  2. Are you doing everyday something you are really passionate about? Do you use any substances? Are you going to gym or doing any kind of physical exercises or at least Meditating?

Yes I am biking, playing basketball, and meditating. Ive read on here you may need uo to 1.5 years to 2 for a recovery? Is this true for my addiction?

  4. What positive things you noticed since you stopped?
It sounds to me like you do not have a solid reason why you stopped, so you are on the fence still. In other words you do not see major improvement in your well being and that is reflected in your mood - anxious.
Anxiety is probably not about watching pornography again, but you have craving for pornography to cope with anxiety you have.
    So two things,
First find what causes anxiety for you - work, personal life, money, school. See how you can address those stressors
As others suggested you need to boost your mood by doing things that make you happy. Achieving , goals like running mile every other day and increasing that meeting with people, playing games etc.

Positive effects present fairly rapidly, you should have felt most within a year.
I suspect you lack personal connection, friends, family communication or lover.

Again, do not see stress as fear of failure, see stress as your normal state and craving for pornography as tool to deal with the stress. once you fix the stress you will not crave it

  5. Cool! I used to fap like 9 years and also watched porn very regularly. Now i've been about 20 Days on nofap and it feels better than ever! I know I dont have much experience yet, but I am very self aware and sensitive as a person. My Best advice is to try to listen yourself is it trying to tell you to improve also other aspects of life. Like who are you spending your time with and are you doing what you love in common. Cause in my experience nofap totally improves character, but if there is something other in your life which is blocking your "flow" it might decrease the benefits of nofap.

Podés volver a re aprender a cómo vivir. A veces es solo vivir un día a la vez. Y no pienses tanto en el tiempo, es solo cuestión de vivir hoy. Espero que el traductor haga su trabajo bien. Suerte compañero. Saludos de argentina

  7. Look at the bright side brother, it can not become any worse if you do not relapse anymore. And probably you already in half way in time of recovery.

    Check these:

Bottom at my profile, you can find more links, if can not find them message me.
https://www.nofap.com/forum/index.php?members/darksektur.207532/ He suffered from paws for long time too, then suddenly the symptoms were gone, if i remember well.

Also if i were you i would drop meditation, just to make sure it does not cause problems in your brains.

I stopped because I realized the depresssion and numbness porn caused me. With that said, i have experienced postives during this time but I am experiencing anxiety (kind of a bored/worried feeling) Is this just stress? Am i feeling stress again? Im looking for answers based on my addiction time compared to recovery time.

  9. Look, you said you stopped pornography for a year and that means it is not really impacting your life negatively for a while. As result you went from depression to anxiety, this marks an improvement but you did not reach "I am happy state" you wanted and this is why you are posting this.
Think of it like a scale. You start Happy, then drop to positive, as your mood degrades it goes to neutral, going further to anxious, then sad, then depressed then lethargic and eventually suicidal.
Going the other way is suicidal->lethargic-depressed->sad->anxious->neutral->positive->happy etc. You are having problems feeling good about yourself and your life and since you already stopped pornography it is unlikely to be the main factor in why you feel this way.

There are other things you are doing or not doing that cause you to end up in this sate. People in the thread listed them
Please accept that you have been successful at dealing with pornography and removed it from your life, and move on to next challenge you have in life.
You have to find that, get honest with yourself and objectively look at what you maybe doing wrong, in other area of your life. It is not uncommon to replace one thing with another, people stop porn and spend all day playing video games. Not really progress
You need to have diverse set of activities in your life to feel happy, interactions with others, hobbies, etc.

Do not fall in to a trap of thinking this is the only issue you have to deal with and it will fix everything else for you.
You are not where you want to be, you have mild depression and you still crave pornography because it is going to help you cope and improve your mood.

So look in to taking over the counter supplemental anti depressants, like st.Jons Wort and L-Tyrozine to bring you closer to normal and get you motivated to move on other aspects of your life

hey man you are not alone. This is the first time that I was 90+ and still I don't see any results....i thought i'd be happier or less depressed...but in reality I barely notice I am on a streak. Its like I relapsed yesteray. Reading this might be demotivating for some people, but its the truth, atleast for some people.

I haven't worked out and my work situation is worse....that may be the reason for me not experiencing my benefits...
And I feel like crap all of the time. because I feel like crap at work, there's a ton of stuff I don't know....i cannot quit the job coz I know first hand how hard it is to find a new one, esp because i lack experience.

I guess you can examine your life...what is causing you anxiety!
