Romantic Poetry

Discussion in 'Self Improvement' started by thatsingleindividual#K-13, Mar 25, 2019.

  1. As we all know, porn comes to desensitize us. It not only ruins our physical nature in regards to sexuality (such as ED) but also it ruins our spiritual selves, the romantic side in which sex is only appropriate. We want to feel again as we come to recover.
One thing I recommend is to read poetry.
Read romantic poetry that connects the romantic tendons with the sexual; it is good for the soul. I'm starting to try it and I find the more I read it, I see really how cheap and ugly pornography really is.
I'm starting to read a book of poetry called "Milk and Honey" by Rupi Kaur. It is really good. Opens up the soul for some healing and even chronicles a little about sexual abuse and the true experience of human sexuality.
"I've had sex she said but I don't know what making love feels like." (pg.20)

  2. Yes exactly!
Without pornography, the whole spiritual part of our nature is improved.
The music sounds better, albo I begin to understand the message of many books.
You noticed a very important issue, read on!

But... why day 1? Man, you are so smart, stop watching porn, really!

Porn has ruined the sexual side of love for me, and in turn has ruined relationships with people I care about. Now I dabble in poetry so I can really relate to this post. Intimacy doesn't feel like it's supposed to, my expectations are so messed up from the hours of porn that I have consumed. Not to mention that the erectile dysfunction I have faced adds a layer of stress to intimacy and relationships, as I worry my performance, or lack there of, could lead to embarrassment.

One of the many reasons I wish to fix myself is so that I can experience love making properly, so that I can experience what I was made for the way it was intended to be done. I haven't had a long enough streak to hear music differently, and quite frankly I am skeptical of the fact, but I know that it can fix love for me, and that is far more than enough.

  4. I searched for that book you recommended, the second result in my browser was... guess what? PORN WTF is wrong with this world?!

  5. Rest assured JustadudenamedAbel, that was not my intention for you to find that!

And thank you that last part of your statement Satr19, I believe that's really motivational. I'm not being sarcastic either. I mean it.
