Because effectively you're relapsing if you're searching and looking at any images on them for any sort of sexual thrill?

I'd say you're only stepping into dangerous territory if you're using them for a sexual thrill, as you mentioned. However, you don't need to use social media for that. For example, I use Facebook messenger to stay in touch with my friends (we have a group chat that's been ongoing for several years). I'm obviously not searching for a sexual thrill with that, so I don't think it's a problem.

As for dating sites, I don't use them, so I can't really comment on it. Overall, I think the answer you're looking for is inside. Be honest with yourself about your intentions and what you enjoy about using these applications. If you know it's not about stimulating yourself the same way that porn did for you, then it's probably not an issue.

You might as well not. I don't use any social media except youtube. I'm not as in contact with friends, but I still use messages and discord.

  4. yes, try to stop and minimize ur social media, i know u will re download but just trying is enough, ull be far from wanting to relapse, for me even utube can be bad or watching a series that has many sex scenes, so if u clean up ur social media there is no problem for using it in moderation!

I have to stay away from looking at any sensual images of women, even clothed. Even though I gave up porn almost 3 years ago, I simply switched to creeping Instagram and Facebook, dirty talk forums and articles about sex and they all basically provided me with the urge to masturbate. As they call it on this forum "PSUB" (porn substitute). It is real, best stay away from it.

  6. what man? u cannot look at women even clothed? why? this is a natural thing and ull encounter many images of women online, and u should even see women in the real life, but dont think looking at a women pic is so bad...

I should have been more specific: If I intentionally start creeping hot women on Facebook or Instagram, searching for bikinis etc., that gets me going and becomes the trigger to masturbate. In other words it has the same effect as porn, but I used to justify it because it was not actually porn. Does that explain it better?

No problem. You see we are all different on a different journey, and that’s how it is for me. I am hoping that going 90 days hard reset with no PMO will get me in a better position to be strong at all times.

It takes will power, determination and grit but I’m sure you can do it. You have to want to succeed most of all, just keep at it a day at a time.
