    Hello friends,

I'm a 49 year old straight male and I've been masturbating since the age of about 12 or 13 I guess. When I was younger porn was obviously much less available. It consisted of finding a dirty mag (soft core) in a bin or occasionally going to a friends house whose dad had a video recorder and a porn film. Like most on here, as porn became more freely available my consumption increased. I have gone through bouts of real addiction...masturbating 5 or 6 times a day to porn (finding it less satisfying each time) and bouts of abstention. I definitely find masturbating without porn more satisfying, but cant break its lure.

My problem and why I'm here is that I've found sex less exciting than it used to be to the point where orgasm during "normal" sex cant be achieved sometimes. I've always enjoyed pushing the boundaries which porn seems to promote....risky sex with strangers, anal, locations, etc. Not all of this may be due to pron but I think its a big factor. I've had quite a lot of sexual partners and done most fantasies and I'd really like to get back to enjoying a normal, uncomplicated, no gadgets, no anal, loving sex life.

For me, the moment I start imagining doing something like anal with a particular girl then that becomes the goal. I do enjoy oral and vaginal sex, but I still find myself looking for the next thing. I wish I could switch off my sexuality for a few months and return to how I was mentally in my early 20's. I dont have an issue getting hard, just orgasming.

    Anyone else had similar experiences?

Welcome to the forum. I'm around the same age, and doing porn for around the same time frame. Sex has been more enjoyable since I've stopped. Life has been more enjoyable since I've stopped.

I think for me its about re-tuning what becomes a turn on for orgasm. Not masturbating with thoughts of "extreme sex", whatever that may be is as important as not watching porn. Watching porn tunes your brain to look for that method to get off. It becomes almost unfamiliar when with a girl. Masturbating whilst fantasizing about extreme situations does the same and leaves you seeking the same experience during real sex.
