I just did an online political test to get an understanding of my views.

  1. Hmm I'd say it's price for citizenship. Your anarcho-capitalist utopia would turn dystopic pretty quickly I think. When there's little oversight, survival of the fittest becomes law of the land. Remember that unregulated industrial revolution phase? 12+ work days for everyone including children, who didn't get to live past 40 in most cases. Socialism is used as a swearword today but without a big scary state forcing enterprises to treat their employees and customers like human beings, they simply wouldn't do it.

I self-label as a moderate conservative, and sure enough, the test stamped me as a moderate conservative.
I give this Facebook quiz a solid two-thumbs-up out of five stars

Regarding anarchic capitalistic dystopias: can confirm that's what happens. Really, if you look at ancient patriarchal tribes and societies, that's pretty much what we all were. Market can't be much freer than "literally no regulations, just barter between families". And without fail, it came down to which family was strong enough to turn into some local warlord.

  3. If companies won't treat people like human beings then governments won't do it either. They are both made up of individuals it's just governments have A bombs. If you can't trust other people with freedom to treat people well, why give all the power to different people but just label them soldiers, politicians and cops?

I prefer a local warlord to a global warlord.

Preferably no warlord, but everyone is convinced in the Joker's philosophy that we are all evil brutes under the surface of the peaceful veneer of state control and order. Take that away and we destroy each other. Except that the largest deadliest and most devastating events and wars in history were perpetrated by governments and individuals in the name of state control and order.

It's survival of fit populations anyway, so I might as well be able to keep 90% of my paycheck.
