Tired of mediocrity

    Not sure where to start. I always want to sleep. I am typing this post right from my bed. How to be strong and not tempted by just sleeping all day?

    1st: Slap yourself.
    2nd: Get the fuck out of bed!
    Keep going from there. I mean it. Don't take a break, keep setting small, achievable tasks.

    If you're just having trouble getting out of bed in the morning, try conditioning yourself to wake up right away.

    Basically, in order to condition yourself, you need to do a trick much like Pavlov did for his dog.

    1) Pretend that you're getting ready for bed and set your alarm for two minutes later. Pretend to go to sleep.
    2) When the alarm goes off two minutes later, turn off the alarm (don't hit snooze)
    3) Stretch, and get out of bed right away
    4) Do the first thing that you would do in the morning (whether it's getting dressed, going to the bathroom, drinking a glass of water, etc.)
    5) Repeat 1-4 at least 5 times.

    Essentially you're training your subconscious to tell your body to get up right away. If you train yourself to do the same thing in response to a given signal, you will automatically and instinctively respond the same way. Motivation (i.e. your conscious willpower) will not be enough to force you out of bed.

    You might have to recondition yourself every now and then. I did this a while back and it worked for a short period of time. However, it stopped working, likely because I hadn't reconditioned myself. It doesn't take much time to do it (no more than 30 minutes). Give it a shot and see how it goes!

    Work out, lift weights, take cold showers and all that sleep will become your rest periods that will build phenomenal muscle.

    Improve your diet - more vegies and fruit, etc...will kick start your metabolism

    Get up early - set your phone/ alarm to go off in ANOTHER ROOM or a distance away from your bed. go piss, whatever and then go straight into the shower.

    Reward yourself with a 1 HOUR (no more) short nap/ siesta LATER in the day if you can honestly say you started the day as planned.

    I've heard cocaine works wonders for that. :p
    but being serious: how is your sleep quality? are you depressed/or anxious?
    It's hard to say what the solution is if you don't know the cause.

    Hello guys! Thanks for all the constructive feedbacks you sent me so far. Much needed! I have managed to avoid masturbation and consequential orgasm for nearly 2 months in 9 days. (start date 19/01/15).
    No one knows apart from you guys online as I am still too embarrassed to share it with anyone else. Maybe I should give myself a hand (as in a clap!). However I feel that I became a bit apathic recently and I just checked youporn for 2 min just to see how it feels like. I still have some kind of attraction but I managed to leave the website before anything happened. I really want to get out of it so I can really focus on myself and get rid of all the distractions. There's another problem. I live with my fiancée and she's not really keen to have sex with me. We went out yesterday, we came back both tipsy and she managed to turn me down despite her state. Not sure how I should respond. Last time we had sex, it was probably two weeks ago. Every time I mention it, she starts to moan, and tries to avoid the topic. I cannot help it, I like sex, and thought about cheating more than once. But I don't want to give up on our relationship either... Fuck. What should I do?
