So I just had a friend help me set up opendns on my home router. And it really is going to help a lot. You can sign up for just a basic filtering service or one that is customizable. I had a friend set a password so I can't log in and alter anything. Anyway, just thought I would let you guys know about it! Free service definitely worth checking out!!

Hi Sam. Thank you for posting this. All of on here are looking for tools to help beat it. I see a lot of guys on here asking for advice, and not so many offering it. Thanks, and keep posting. I hope you get clean.

    Good luck on your journey.

I tried OpenDNS, gave the password to a friend. Unfortunately I'm too good with computers I managed to hack it at a weak moment, now he doesn't know that I have unlimited access to porn. I set up borders for myself and then I find a way to get past them, its crazy right?

I'd ask how you broke through it... But i don't want/need to know

It definitely isn't an end-all cure for looking stuff up but needs to be coupled with a strong desire to kick this!

Hope you figure out what works for you!

I haven't used OpenDNS because I know how to bypass it. It's a no brainer for someone who is computer literate, like me or Siddharta.

Siddharta (btw, I love your reference) I would recommend using K9. It's much more effective.
For K9 to be bullet proof you need to disable booting from optical drives or USB from BIOS. After you've done that, ask your friend to also put a password on your BIOS. This way there is little you can do afterwards to disable it.

If you do find a way to disable it, please don't share it unless you find a way to counter block the disabling method. We want K9 to work, we don't want to bypass it.

40 days PMO free, no filters on my comp for me. I found that *part* of my addiction was finding a way around the filters. Thats just me though. It was part of the excitement.

Last time I tried this it wasnt helpful to have filters. This time, knowing that I have access and conciously choosing not to look, I havent been as tempted. I know this isnt for everyone, but maybe it will work for someone else?
