So I’m on day 58 of my NoFap journey, and everything for the most part has been going great. Some withdrawal symptoms and what not, but that’s to be expected.

But tonight I was riding in the backseat of my Mom’s car with another friend, and the car was silent for the time being except for a song that was playing on the radio. Now, ***Trigger Warning*** Nicki Minaj has been a big trigger for me in the past, and a song with her on it came on the radio. And during her verse, I could feel myself being triggered, as there’s a music video for the song and my mind was wandering off imagining the music video. Now I didn’t linger on the thoughts after the song was over, but while it was playing, I could feel my arousal levels rise. Will this compromise my reboot in any way???

Yea I've definitely masturbated to Nicki Manaj's music videos before. She's really pretty. Music can be a trigger especially main stream pop and hip hop with their sexualized lyrics. Best avoid these songs

Do you think this’ll affect my reboot?

I think it could. It may cause you to relapse. Also, music effects your subconscious and the way you think. It feeds a message whether we like it or not. Nick Minaj talking about her ass and pussy is going to bring filth to the mind.

There is music you can listen to that won't do this. Maybe find music without lyrics. Or lyrics that don't have raw sexual content.

It wasn’t my choice to play the song, it caught me off guard when it came on. After how much it triggered me I’m wishing I would’ve asked to change the station. Despite this though I’m not going to relapse. This doesn’t count as a reset does it?

No it's not a relapse. You held your ground and didn't watch porn or masturbate even though you were aroused. Feel proud of yourself brother.

No problem, as long as you don't cross the relapse line. As TimeToQuitNow said, just avoid these kinds of songs and you'll be alright.
