I don't understand why the right is so pro capitalism when it's not in their favor. Most right wing Trump supporters are blue collar employees.

This will not end well. I am not going to say my opinion on the matter, but I will say this: I find funny the tags you used.

You're only making me more curious, spit it out. You, don't have to pick a side, I'm not either. I just think that there's reasonable arguments you can make against not exactly capitalism, but at least corporatism. I think capitalism just get's the blame for it all because corporations are a product of capitalism in a way.

I live in a place where economy does not make sense and every merchant is a human leech that can make the prices as high as he want and people will have no other choice than buy it or starve. As a person who is not a criminal, I say capitalism is terrible.

  5. This is the typical debate among left-wing and right-wing, I see.

I'll just say everyone should get what they deserve, and that no one should get anything for free. Dialectic materialism always places rich against the poor making the rich be seen as the evil, but they never say the sins of the poor and why most of the time they continue being poor; Dialectic Materialism reduces life and existence just to money, and "the class struggle" is just another way to separate people based upon how much money they have. Poor people continue being poor because of their lifestyle most of the time, not because class struggle or whatever you try to make up, as I have seen the difference of character and approach to life between a rich person and a poor one is a big one. Most of the people get what they deserve because of their choices at the end.

Capitalism isn't perfect, but it's better than most economic systems. The freedom to exchange products for money with someone else is what makes actual life what it is: one of the best times to be alive, with technology, and lots of commodities one hundred years ago you didn't have. Capitalism has made society "progress", whether you like it or not.

I remember when I was entrenched in this whole "right vs. left" paradigm, uncritically forming my beliefs based on the current political flavor of the day. Capitalism is a liberal idea based on individualism, with the right being a more "moderate" political faction in theory, libertarian leanings in the sphere of economic thought.

Capitalism has no redeeming qualities, and I have grown to despise it immensely. Whenever I think of capitalism I think of some evil, greedy, Robber Baron piece of shit like Jeff Bezos, who, instead of treating his employees fairly, would rather take his ill gotten gains and waste it all away on his own selfish legacy (like attempting to colonize outer space).

I am sorry, but when you are the richest person in the world you can't play the game that "everyone is responsible for themselves". Bezos is procuring extraordinary government subsides, bringing local economies to their knees, sits on the Pentagon Board, stores all the CIA's information on his cloud services for 600 million dollars, and owns the Washington Post lmao. This is beyond an absurd amount of concentrated wealth for someone to hold, and is exactly why anti-trust laws were legislated.

Capitalism does't only pose the problem of people like Bezo's, but you also have uneducated Boomers, like President Trump, who slashes taxes for people like Bezo's under the ill informed theory that companies will redirect supply chains, and invest in industry creating jobs and wealth for people on the lower end of the socio-economic latter.

Instead what the companies used their larger profit margins and repatriated money on is stock buybacks. While the underlining economy is tanking, the only thing that is spoken about is the booming stock market that is being subsidized by ridiculously low interest rates.

Back in times of the ancient Greeks the rich were obligated to take care of societies needs, and if they didn't they wouldn't remain rich very long. When you control vast amounts of wealth, way beyond your needs, you have a greater responsibility to the overall society that has given you the privilege to procure and maintain that amount of wealth.

The only thing capitalism is concerned about is shareholder primacy, cheap labor, ridiculous profits, huge wealth gaps between the few and the many, and there is no solution to problem because the common person democracy is supposed to represent can't lobby Congress like Silicon Valley Tech Companies. Furthermore, capitalism is a race to the bottom, which is why populism has been exploding across the western world.

This Milton Friedman, Reaganite type of market worship that is pervasive throughout society today isn't sustainable, and when the Boomers disappear there will definitely be an economic reformation that takes place when millennials take full control over the government. We already see huge shifts in the poll numbers when it comes to socialisms favorability.

I am in the camp that socialism and capitalism are two trashy systems. I favor neither.
