I'm in a few chat groups of friends I know (all guys). One of those groups can be very dirty sometimes. They like to send pornographic images, cartoons, or wierd but ultimately arousing images but they do it mostly as jokes, because of the "Wtf factor"

When I encounter these, i sometimes tend to give it a good look (as is human nature) for like 5-10 seconds, but ultimately shake it off and move on. I don't come close to relapsing, but maybe it's because I only started 1.5 weeks ago. Maybe the temptation will increase later?

Do you think I should try to avoid these groups? Will looking at a single image "by mistake" affect my reboot in a bad way, by reinforcing the dopamine addiction? What about videos?

This addiction is great at helping us rationalize. It's not a "mistake" if you know the pictures are going to appear. No porn means no porn.

For me, porn is living a sexual fantasy vicariously through someone else. There are pornographic blogs that use no pictures. There are movie scenes with the lights off, but you hear sexual sounds. If the form of media you are experiencing is meant to trigger sexual feelings, it's porn.

The real question you should be asking is, "Do I want to completely give up porn?"

A truck driver riding along a mountain pass does not see how close he can get to the edge before he falls off. He does everything in his power to stay as far away from the edge as possible. When you can honestly answer "yes" to the above question, your thoughts will change from "How close can I get to what is technically porn?" to "What can I do further avoid any possibility of running into temptation?"

The ideas typed above are my personal goals/beliefs, but this is your journey. In the end, you decide what is keeping you from making a full recovery. Best of luck!

Stay away from those group chat. Once you see the picture, now you will start to want more, meaning you are more then likely to relapse, depending how strong you are. Your brain is going to want more. It's only after PMO, is when we realized that we messed up. Stay strong and hang in there... I repeat, stay away from triggers, like those group chats please
