    Hey everyone!

I'm a 21 year old student from Germany and since I discovered porn about 9 years ago, I have been consuming it almost daily, sometimes multiple times a day.
It got to the point where I left the room (for example class or hanging out with my friends) to go to the restroom and quickly masturbate and ejaculate while watching stuff on my phone.
I realised that this is not healthy in any way and that I got addicted. Easy quitting was not working, so as a first step, instead of masturbating and trying to cum as fast as I can, I trained my stamina. Masturbating without an orgasm.
But this method got me to the point of watching porn for several hours, always focussing on not to ejaculate, which stole lot of my time.
So now I'm struggling with myself because I want to reduce and in a longterm quit watching porn.

I'm very happy and lucky that I have a wonderful and supportive girlfriend. We are together now for over a year.
Our sex is great and I don't have any big problems caused by my porn addiction, besides needing much time in order to ejaculate and sometimes not feeling her so intense because of my overused Death Grip.
She is the main reason why I'm here on nofap because I feel like it is unhealthy that we have such a good relationship and sex, but I'm still longing for porn.

I also smoked a lot of pot and cigarettes over the past 5 years, so you could say addictions grab me quite easily, but fortunately I'm clean now since more than 40 days and counting!
My longest time without masturbating was like a week tops, so my first goal is to stand my ground for more than a week.

I hope NoFap will help me overcome my struggle and I'm very much looking forward to progressive discussions, chats and support in every way.

  3. Hey @NathanDrake,

Welcome to NoFap! It sounds like you've definitely come to the right place. NoFap is a great resource for those that are trying to quit watching porn, masturbating, or both.

As you've probably found out, this is a pretty powerful addiction, so it's going to take some determination. Like any addiction, you have to truly want it out of your life in order to get it out of your life. But, it'll all be well worth it. It'll be good for you, and it'll also be good for your girlfriend.

Just a bit of advice, I would suggest against slowly reducing porn use if it can be helped. The thing is, with porn that doesn't really work very well and will actually only make things more difficult. It's up to you, I just thought I'd mention it. Ultimately, you're the only one that knows what works best for you.

I would recommend starting a reboot log here: https://www.nofap.com/forum/index.php#reboot-logs.8. It'll help you keep track of your progress, gain support, and stay motivated to continue.

    Good luck, and welcome! :)

    @Bryan Myers

Thank you for the kind words!

I tried reducing porn use step by step, but as you said, with porn it's not working that way...

Yea, right now I'm figuring out how everything works here :)
And I already appreciate the helpful and supportive atmosphere here!!

Gonna start that reboot log now!

    Welcome bro!
What you used to do(M but no O) it's called edging. Edging is actually worse, but your purpose was on the right place.

Don't your life be driven by your sexual desires. Let your sexual desires be the result of something.

What you are describing is "edging" (see the Glossary at the top of this page for definitions of abbreviations and terms that may be new to you.) Edging is really bad for you.

Short version: DO NOT EDGE ! EVER !

Edging is really bad. Edging trains your body and mind to expect and to need prolonged, often very intense, stimulation in order to reach O. That level of mental and physical stimulation doesn't happen with PIV relations. Guess what: when you attempt PIV, your body and mind don't receive the kind of stimulation it needs to O, instead your body responds with PIED and DE. Not good.

Edging does NOTHING good, so stop. Easier said than done, but it is certainly NOT impossible and very much worth every bit of effort required to stop this damaging activity.

For more information about edging, have a look at:

    https://www.yourbrainonporn.com/reb...masturbate-edge-or-watch-porn-without-orgasm/

    DO NOT EDGE. EVER !

So, it sounds like you are already experiencing delayed ejaculation. Stop edging, and stop PMO and your DE will get better (won't take so long to O).

You can do this. Its not simple, its not easy, but the results are very much every bit of effort you put into it.

Read a complete reply on your other thread. You describe "benefits", yet you complain of "needing much time to ..." . It seems like your "benefits" are the root of what you identify as problematic.
