Recent developments- opinions on fine art nudes

Discussion in 'Porn Addiction' started by Fractured Mindset, May 31, 2019.

  1. What's your opinions on Fine art nudes? I may have accidentally stumbled upon some images on Lomography's website (due to me posting some of my own photography there, and checking out other peoples' stuff), and I just realized, is fine art nude stuff harmful to a reboot? I also think my no pmo goal is influencing me a bit.

If YOU think something is harmful to YOUR journey, then it is. Really, only you can answer the question of whether these images are triggers for you. If they are, the answer is simple - post the images you need to post, but NO browsing and checking out what images others may have posted.

Also, its a good thing if your noPMO goal is influencing your decisions to avoid potential triggers !

  4. OK, after one long but good day My mind has cleared up a bit- here's my analysis:
1- it happened because I was bored, or because I was waiting for Arrow Video to announce their August titles on their facebook page
2- I wouldn't call my experience this morning triggering, but there was a little more internal excitement than usual. my pants stayed on, no touching myself ect...
3- this won't be a recurring problem. I realized quickly this could be a problem but if I discipline myself and I keep myself occupied then I'll be fine
4- I've suffered escalation problems and stuff in that category is more likely to trigger me.

Honestly, if I don't keep going back and I can teach myself self discipline I should be ok.
Also, as I'm writing this I'm tired so apologies if something doesn't make any sense.

Everything in moderation, fine art nudes or artistic nude photography can still be damaging. The end result is the same, conditioning yourself to get hard only to imagery on a screen vs reality but again it comes back to how often you view such images. Someone who drinks one night a week isn’t an alcoholic but someone who drinks every night is. Same logic applies here.

I don’t think it’s the same degree as legitimate porn, we see nudity often in movies and TV, just look at game of thrones. I think that’s normal, attempting to avoid ALL images of nudity isn’t the correct strategy. It’s about moderation.

I had an issue with GoT, comparing it to porn and thinking : "hey, it's not that bad".
But watching it everyday i noticed it is that bad. I honestly think it is one of main factors making this show so addicting - getting aroused a little, but not too much, and keep getting back to it.

Don't look. It doesn't seem too common that you'd typically or normally see nude women during the course of everyday activities, so that part shouldn't be too difficult to avoid. If you go looking for trouble - and going looking for nudes can be looking for trouble - you'll find it and the results won't be good.

If you haven't already done so, please read the "Getting Started Guide" available on this site's home page. It includes a lot of information that you will find helpful as you start your journey of healing. Also have a look at the "Glossary" on the top of this page for definitions of abbreviations and terms that may be new to you.

  11. Suggestion- keep your technology away from you for as long as possible. Learn to power through the urges.
No caffeine (particularly sodas and energy drinks, never tried coffee so I can't say if it has an effect or not).
learn to accept a situation as it is.
