I'm starting my first reboot after being introduced to this group.

I've completed all step by steps to start a successful reboot according to http://www.nofap.com/forum/showthread.php?3549-Action!-or-not!!!-Have-you-actually-Prepared-for-it
except for changing my smart phone to a cheap phone.

Only issue I have is I run my business through Facebook, Google calenders, and use my phone on the go to schedule almost everything and stay in contact with others.

Will having access to a Smart Phone cause a relapse as stated in this article around Day 45 as stated by Aron in the above article.

I've found his article very useful and have been researching a lot today when starting up this reboot.

    What are your thoughts?

Hey, it is what it is. It's all about your will power. How badly do you want to quit this addiction. You can setup thousands of paternal blockers and downgrade your phone all you want but nothing 100%. There is always a way around something

In my reboot, smartphone hasn't been a problem. For some reason, I never though of a smartphone as a way to view porn. I think I used it for that only once or twice during the last 4 years, and I often use my phone in bed before going to sleep, which can be a risky situation. So I'd say it depends on whether you associate your smartphone usage with porn. If you do, then it might be a good idea to switch it to an older model. If you don't, I think it isn't worth the hassle.

  4. For me BurningDesire I use my smartphone for everything including viewing porn, etc. I haven't chose to downgrade my cell phone but I'd keep a watch out for the urge to use it for porn like I do. From now until I die I will not use my smartphone to view porn. I will not even bring my phone into the washroom with me. Just try to avoid looking at porn on your smartphone if you do. Thats the best advice I can give.

Thanks guys this was definitely beneficial. I'm definitely 100% committed right now.

Keep my phone for now. If the urge comes to watch on it I will get rid of it asap.

    Thanks

    Hi BurningDesire,

I thought about downgrading my phone when I started this journey. I didn't. I am just about at the end of my 90 day reboot now. What I have found is that I can tell when I'm in a mindset where I'm more susceptible to temptation. In those times I just don't open my internet browser or if things are getting really tough I put my phone down somewhere and go somewhere else. The urge will come, so you just need to make sure that you have a plan to deal with it before your logic is compromised by the urge.

    All the best,

    Immanuel

Thanks Immanuel, I will come up with a plan when the urge comes and I know where the easiest place to access it is so I will be sure to avoid.

    Thanks,
