Not a topic that comes up much, so I thought i'd raise it and get people's thoughts on it. i know that the male chastity devices / cock cages are mostly linked to the world of k**ky p0*n (which could be a trigger/problem for some), but I have met men that have used these in their relationships (for various reasons), and believe that they do have a place in real life.

I am wondering if (whilst most will view it as an extreme measure), whether small periods of self-imposed or semi-enforced chastity would be a good way of supporting cutting out PMO and aiding recovery?

My thoughts are that, if used with someone you trust who can support you, it could be a really good way to rewire your brain and help to keep the mind focused on other tasks. There are a lot of sites/posts on blogs that talk about the mental health benefits for men - more focus, less likely to edge, desire to please others and not to fulfil their own uncontrollable urges etc...

  2. I've actually been thinking about buying one for myself. Just putting the key somewhere and not coming back to it until I achieve a relationship. But I am aware that people may see it and get thoughts in their head about me like I'm not normal. I've watched a hentai in the past and the guy would only take it off when he was with the girl, when they were in the moment or she wanted it. Over all I think they would have more of an affect in retaining sex drives, etc. But on the other side it's probably not that great for the penis as all the blood rushes and it can't expand, lead to problems. But who knows?

I haven't really heard or seen videos of couples who actually use them.

@TrueSaiyan - I think you're right that there might be those kind of issue. I guess I was also thinking that at the start of the reboot, the flatline + PIED often means that the penis stays pretty flaccid most of the time and so might not be such a problem.

I'd be interested to know if you decide to give it a try as i'm also considering it.

Interesting idea. I think it could help you get through the initial reboot phase especially after a binge. My only concern would be becoming dependent on it in the long term.

In my honest opinion, we don't need Chasity devices. What we need are utilizing the right resources already at our finger tips here at NoFap. If one truly has an addiction, consider seeing a health care provider or join a 12 step recovery group. The more resources and tools on your tool belt the better. Addiction is a tough road to travel, why make it harder? Learn to enhance your relationship with God or the spirituality in your life. You will find that there is nothing greater than developing that relationship and substituting it for the negative behavior and actions that we took before.

for me, i would not do it, i think it would lead down a weird path and wouldn't really solve anything. I would be concerned you are just looking to live out a fetish rather than give up porn. I would look to see if what you are trying to do actually worked for other people that have the same goals as you.

I think it's a big ask psychologically as well as practically. The responses are pretty much what I expected. I keep thinking about the question "if you take a child's favourite toy away, does the child want it more and more, or will they forget about it and play with other toys?"
If you couldn't actually touch your penis or edge or anything like that, would you bother watching porn in the first place, and eventually forget about it an move on?

    Well, here goes....

I am here just to throw my 2 cents in. You don't have to agree or disagree or care. But, I do have experience on this topic.

I am a married man. I have normal desires. I believe in the purity and sanctity of the marriage vow and hold it sacred. I believe that P is dead wrong and a Bligh on humanity, especially women.

I will not say "all", but I believe P to be responsible for the hideous and disgusting crime and violence against women, as well as a general disrespect towards them. I don't see this view as a stretch, and those who do, probably feed on a regular diet of porn.

I personally do not do porn. To say I have never seen it would be a lie. But it has always just been a circumstantial look, I didn't set out to see it, it was just there. That is getting easier and easier to do. You can see things that border the label "porn" on regular TV now.

I do not do M. To say I have ever done it would also be a lie. It has always been random and sporadic, not an addiction, or even a weekly or monthly habit.

I do not have any addictions that are typical of the masses. I drink rarely, and in moderation, never have smoked, no recreational drug use, and avoid all illegal and immoral behavior and those who practice such behaviors.

All that said, you at be wondering why I would be on nofap. I am here to tell you that you may say what you like about it, but I wear a chastity device full time. It comes off randomly for cleaning and grooming, and that's all.

The question you are asking is, Why?

The simple answer is this. I, like many here, have an extremely high libido. I don't know why, genetics maybe. But what I do know is that I could very easily slip into one of these bad habits. Read on.

My wife has chronic illnesses. We are not able to share an intimate life. However the vow is what it is. I love her more than life, she is my best friend, and I would rather jump off a cliff than act in a way that would hurt her.

So, I will do everything in my power to show honor, loyalty and devotion to her. True love has no fear, no limits and always looks for the best interest of others. Your wife should be the FIRST person that applies to. If not, perhaps you love yourself more than her.

I have endured many years of this situation, too numerous to mention. But, never as much in the last couple of years has there been an easing of my feelings of desperation because of my needs for intimacy.

Before, I was always getting frustrated internally with the fact that it was never getting better, and maybe......... But, it won't. So I desperately searched for a way to combat this. I spoke to doctors about what to do and got nothing.

Then I found chastity devices. Yes, there is a lot of BDSM stuff related to it. However, you will also find that there are many, that are supervised and do it because they have been chronic M, and it was the best solution to reconnect with their mate and be together instead of on their own.

Not long after I began to wear it full time did I see the positive results in my body, mind and relationship. My wife found it obscure, but now even she appreciates what his done by removing the pressure of the intimacy quandary we found ourselves in. It has relieved her of feelings of inadequacy and allowed us both to move forward.

She is very grateful for what I have done.

You can call it what you want, but, I hope this true unembellished example of my life will help you to see that there is a possibility that chastity devices can better a person as it has done for me.

I am not into kink at all. I am celibate, locked and content. I have always and always will have a PMO free life. My chastity cage is just a little insurance that will help me stay that way.

@freelocked thanks very much for the detailed account of your situation. It sounds like it has worked well for you, and I think for both of you to have an open mind about using a 'obscure' tool/device to achieve your goals is commendable.

Since writing this post I have myself purchased and worn a device (longest stint of locking is 4-5 days). I am not sure it is right for my own personal goals but I do think it has a purpose for some people (as you have testified to).

There's a reason we shouldn't view them as something to rely on.

    They aren't healthy.

They will not produce the results you seek.

They will fuck you up though in mind and body.

  15. thank you sharing. this is something i plan on giving a try with my no PMO journey. right now, in a time where i feel like i am the most likely to mess up and not stay true to this, i like the idea of having a little insurance and as a sign of commitment.
