Frankly, I think PJT is trolling this thread. He doesn't quote any sources. We're just supposed to believe him. Oh he read some book called "2 babylonians." Wow. I'm impressed. He doesn't quote any scholarly sources for his Catholic bashing. It's just "Yeah, like, Christmas is in December so it's like, totally pagan dude [hits blunt]." Name one religion that has done as much as the Catholic church to eliminate - yes eliminate - paganism. I dare you. We did such a good job eliminating paganism that we're hated for it in some circles. The Catholic church is anything but pagan.

Just because a gay guy painted the Sistine Chapel doesn't mean the Catholic Church condones homosexuality. Michaelangelo was obviously much bigger than "some gay guy" (to quote PJT)

Look I respect everyones opinion but guess what I try and adhere to the scriptures aka the holy Bible. It clearly says in Leviticus chapter 18 about homosexuality and how it's forbidden. The holy Bible is literally a book of laws, prophecy, geneology and history. In leviticus chapter 19 it states to not get tattoos. Someone show me where in the holy Bible it says that a priest has to be celibate along with the nuns of the Catholic church. A pagan goddess names cybelle had eunochs serve as her priests. They were called her golli. That sounds a lot more like what the Roman Catholic priests mimic as opposed to anything actually written in the bible.

There is also no doubt that the dates of Christmas and easter fall in line with sun god pagan worship holidays as well.

It's cool man I understand my opinion is not popular. I just know that if I was the pope I wouldn't hire a known homosexual to pain the Sistine chapel. I see it in October man Michaelangelo literally draws a man mooning another man...like to me that is unacceptable. But the pope allowed it. To me the pope is moreso like an Egyptian pharoah to this world . I know this is a touchy subject so if you guys want me to contribute I will or feel free to pm me and we can talk. The intent was not to troll but to open up eyes and minds.

  3. Is there any accurate way to depict God? Because if you are against all depictions like I assume you are this arguement is disingenuous.

My understanding is that the most high is a deity it can't be personified. It's the creator. In the bible prohphets receieved the word of God and recited them to the people. Moses was similar to Jesus in that he too had access to The Most High and transcribed his words into laws that the tribes of Israel followed as they migrated out of Egypt. For me when I wake up when my conscience speaks back to me and the most pure raw real thoughts I have that are fair and just I believe that's God talking to me. I believe that's Gods word. Right is the word of God. Right is God. And all the wrongs are the demons that plague us.

Another unpopular opinion but the men of the Bible need to be tinted color wise . If Michaelangelo or the pope or anyone was being real atleast paint the people the right color . Jesus was not blonde haired blue eyed and yet all us Catholics look at this version of Jesus at church in our homes etc. The Sistine chapel depict the men of the Bible in this way. That should tell us enough of the entire Christian religious system. We just need to keep it real with ourselves and we can see the deception.

I simple Google search will tell you why Catholic priests don't marry. I typed "why don't priests get marred? catholic," and got this:
https://www.catholic.com/tract/celibacy-and-the-priesthood. It has nothing to do with paganism.

This article has a great rundown on the origins of Christmas and the date of Christmas. It even covers theories on pagan origins. http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/03724b.htm

When all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail. For some reason, you see paganism everywhere.

Why do you rely so heavily on a book that was compiled by supposed pagans (Catholics)?

@Max Fisher any old mirror shows the image of God after which man was made. So, no need for that graven image.

Jesus also said that those that see him have seen the Father. I take that to mean that he expressly looks just like the Father who sent him, who received him in death, and who sent him back to reveal his resurrected body.

Also, women were similarly made in the female image. It takes a little faith, but the meaning is all there to see.

The old testament was written before Jesus' life. Catholicism didn't even exist when those books were written. Even in Jesus' time Catholicism didn't really exist as it was more or less established after his death.

I see the destruction of man and the household everywhere I turn yeah sure.

You know, I've brought up different aspects of the catholic religion and it's similarities to babylonian teachings and there seems to be an excuse or a reason why it's similar "but not really" similar at every single turn. I will say this, I didn't know that protestants had these same type of complaints until now, so I'm grateful i learned something. It's kind of funny and ironic that they are called 'PROTESTants' lol. Doth (I) protest too much maybe. But like I said from the beginning usually where there is smoke there is fire.

And "pagan" origins come from Noah's son's Cush and Cush's son Nimrod and Nimrod's mother/wife Semiramis. The only son of Noah who adhered to the scriptures and The Most High was Shem.
