I've been thinking masochistic tendencies have a lot to do with relapsing, and I'm unsure how to rid myself of them. Most relapses I'm in a quite a consumed state of anger/self loathing rather than hornyness, I seem to want rebel against something which invariably is only myself so I'm interested in techniques/questions to find the cause of these feelings and how to deal with them? So far all I've got is recognising sensitive flaws, either forgiving myself and accepting them with the help of meditation or making a dedicated effort to remedying them.

I also think anxiety is at the root of this aswell, rather than face up to possible suffering from the outside world i'd rather be the engineer and have control over my own suffering. I guess this should be the primary focus.
It's only self harm at this point since I'm aggravating a pre-existing injury besides ofc the visceral brain fog and anxiety after a post streak binge.
Also just learned of the halt technique think this will really help.

I guess it's a deep unconscious decision to get rid of an addiction, how do you make it?

I get a lot of anxiety when I am idle. You need to fill your days with stuff to keep your brain busy. work sets you free you know?

But I get what you're saying. You just need to realise that the anxiety is CAUSED by the PMO and if you do it again you'll simply make it worse, not better. you need to accept there is no alternative than to put up with the temporary symptoms. but as I said you can mitigate most of these symptoms from lifting/sports/work/socialising. good luck

    Read this, might help: https://www.nofap.com/forum/index.php?threads/the-porn-goddess.230204

The decision to quit is partly unconscious, or at least your unconscious needs to be in line with your consciousness, which you do through self-reflection. But mostly you do it by properly categorizing experiences you make, specifically relapses. Use them. Use your anger against your misbehavior. Use your frustration. Concentrate it all into resolve to stick to a goal. Keep your goals simple and make them small if you've repeatedly failed.
