    Hey guys
I'm in such a bad place right now. I've been battling porn addiction for quite a long while now. Highest streak was 79 days but it happened almost 6 months ago. These days porn has become a passive habit in my life and on top of that I've also become addicted to weed. I was drawn to the extra sensitivity when watching porn high. Yesterday night I consumed an edible, don't even know how many times I binged and woke up still feeling the effects. I had to call in sick and missed work today (this same kind of scenario happened last week too).
Everything about my life is so hopeless. I don't have a purpose in life or a passion, a dream. I'm 24, dropped out of college, never had a girlfriend, barely any close friends, overweight and still live with my parents. It sucks cause deep down I know I have the potential to be so great.
Last week I read 2 self help books: the power of habit and feel the fear and do it any way but it seems any effort I make to fight porn gets reciprocated 10x in strength and makes the situation worse. I really don't know how much worse it can get.

Hey mate, i know how hard it can be to battle the urge. Just wanna let you know you’re not alone, been drugs free for almost a year now but then it’s pretty hard to escape porn and masturbating. Just relapse recently, but never ever blame yourself for it. Just keep on struggling to survive the battle. And tried to distract yourself whenever the urge come, like playing games or watching movies. And yes self-help books/videos really-really helps! It’s all about the mindset, you got this!

  3. Rock bottom is a hard place to be, but it can be a good one. You have a picture in your head of how things can be better. You know part of what is keeping you down. What will you do to rid yourself of PMO? What concrete steps can you take today to cut off your access and never go back?

We are here to encourage and support you on the journey, but you have to take the steps. Start with the first step today. Let us know what you decide to do and how it goes!

  4. When you feel depressed it only feels like life is a horror, life is actually unchanged, its just a feeling. Same way when you feel motivation - everything seems possible.
Your goal should be to get out of depression first then once you feel normal then you can begin to work on your behavior.

To be honest mate it will be borderline impossible to quit PMO if you don't even enjoy your life. I am certain that it is a symptom of your lifestyle. You have to tackle that first because that is the underlying issue. I wish you luck man

Weed and porn is a pretty toxic combination, especially if you dont have much going for yourself in your life.
I would recommend to cut out the weed, this will help you see things a bit clearer. You seem to be in a pretty dark place right now, but you already made it through a 79 day streak which indicates that you are strong enough and willing to fight through some hard times.
Try to get back into the right mindset again, and start tackling your problems step by step. You can do it!

Thank you guys for your helpful replies. I flushed my remaining weed stash down the drain today. It actually felt great, like a huge weight lifted off my mind. Porn is going to be harder as cutting off access isn't that simple but I hope for the best.

  9. That is a good step but again keep in mind that you feel good about it now, you should expect that you will regret flushing it down later. When that happens and if you understand and expect it you can handle that as part of your behavior. instead of feeling conflicted - why do I now regret it

  10. my friend your young . you can change you whole life around. you have more power then you think. change your perception on life and watch as your world changes. if i can recommend a book to you call "The Way Of The Superior Man" it will help you understand your life as a man. and that the number one thing to do is find your purpose. i believe in you.

It's all about will power and decisions, I'm very similar to you except I'm 28, girls aren't really much of an issue if I'm around them however because of masturbating/smoking weed, sleeping late etc my life is a mess.....

But I still try to put the effort in to change, for example even if I wake up 4pm, waste time, game, smoke...it gets to 3am and I go to the gym because I said to myself I'm going gym on X days if I miss it'll snowball. Writing goals really helps
