I know right. I wish I could make my brain talk me into doing things that are actually meaningful that way it talks me into watching porn.

Yes, me too, but you are the one that talks to you not your brain, the brain is only an instrument with which you create thoughts and habits...

Well then you might as well keep on PMOing with your attitude. This isn't an easy thing to overcome. I was a twice a day PMOer for 6 years, I never thought I would ever make it two weeks, and yet here I am. Just put your head down and march through the storm. Any time you get an urge, think about your future if you don't stop PMOing. 35 years old, fat and lonely, sitting behind a computer screen fucking your hand, then ask yourself if it's worth it. Look at the big picture not the here and now. Imagine a year from now, free from the shackles of porn, clear thoughts, high testosterone, and hopefully a girl by your side. You got this don't give up.

Distraction is only one method and isn't always a long term solution.
I would suggest taking time to look inward. Face the discomfort. Observe it (and don't enter a battle with it). Only when we are able to look deeper and examine the real reasons why we do what we do are we able to make big enough changes with a real enough reason to bring long term success and personal growth.
Beating addiction requires an attitudinal and behavioural change as well as a physical change. Positivity is key and having a plan that you stick to and work every day is the best way to make some ground up. I suggest meditation and journaling as a starting point.
    White-knuckling this ride rarely works.

Agreed that this is really tough to quit, 100%! It’s because the porn basically rewired your brain to satisfy its desire for dopamine. It produces urges hoping you will cave it and your emotional voice (the one that tells you it’s too hard) encourages you to do just that. You need to use your grown up rational voice to say NO, this will pass and do something else. It is work for a long time for most to stay clean. The life that awaits you will be worth the effort but you have to put in 100% effort. Remember, your rational inner voice will steer you in right direction. Your emotional voice will encourage you to relapse.

Meditation: increasing the power of observation, rational responses rather than automatic reactions!

Participation in Drum circles: releasing adrenaline
