First of all, I'd like to thank everbody for contributing to this forum and NoFap. Follow your goals and stay strog. My goal is nofap for lifetime.

In only half a year, I went from being depressed, anxious, desperate to finally living the life (consumed porn everyday for like 7 years). Recovery process was full of temptations, urges, and flatlines. Went from 2 times a day fapper to Fapstronaut. Still there is a long path of recovery ahead. Flatlines I had were very serious, filled with depression, anxiety, restlessness, headaches. Flatlines got better with time. My memory and concentration improved, better problem solving, better sleep, more endurance.

My message to you is that NO PMO will make you stronger, phisically, emotionally, psychologicaly. You will rediscover yourself truly as you are. Your brain will be thankful too.

Now, I won't talk about benefits here, not that I didn't receive them :)P), but to make you curious about them so that you'll need to discover them by doing nofap :p

Now, Nofap is mine and yours First step towards better life. Anxiety and depression won't be gone with only NoFap. I'd like to share here some things that helped me along with Nofap:

    1. https://maladaptivedaydreamingguide.wordpress.com/ -> If you often daydream, it can cause a lot of problems since you are not living in Reality which is connected to anxiety and depression, especially if you daydream about having a relationship or so. Getting yourself grounded is the key of living in Reality. Yep, Reality sucks, but as soon you ditch the daydreaming you'll start living in the moment (my experience).

    2. Look up for Noah Elkrief on Youtube, his videos helped me to defeat social anxiety, and to cope with depression and anxiety during flatlines. His videos are very resourceful.

Personally, I don't recommend meditation, as it can make you more anxious and depressed in the long run, if you already have anxiety and depression. Breathing exercises are much better option.

    Some tips for recovery:
-get rid of other addictions (smoking, caffeine, you name it) as they trigger dopamine
-exercise more, study more, work more -> to cope with Extra Energy and urges
    -spend more times outdoors
-take supplements (Zinc, Magnesium, Vitamin D, there are a lot of options)
-reward yourself for every week on nofap (not with fap tho :p) - it could be a clothing piece, chocolate, etc, whatever makes you happy, but no PMO
    -get a hobby
    -engage in social situations
    -sleep well (8 hrs min)
-don't be hard to yourself if you relapse, embrace it, move on
-keep in mind that you'll maybe relapse a few times, expect a relapse (this will motivate you not to relapse)

Remember, nofap is a mental battle, don't let your brain controls you.
Time is the only resource you'll need. Small steps to a greater success.
Best wishes to all of you.

    Regards,
    Mihadom

    Okay, here we go:
Better sleep, better, smoother and glowing skin, improved eyesight, silky and more shiny hair, increase in muscle mass (due to working out but also with nofap, as I was working out before), from 90% social anxiety to none (greatest benefit of all), increased confidence, better focus, better concentration, better memory, stable emotions (no more mood swings), depression faded away, lowered stress, strong erections, female attraction (this is crazy btw, went from no looks from girls to constantly being eyed), better social skills, more assertive comunication, no more brain fog… I recommend you to set yourself a strong motivational goal (free from addiction, meaningful relationship), then write it on the paper, also write the list of things that PMO has done to you, next write the thing you want to become or be free of. Put that list near bed, read it after waking and before sleep. Visualize yourself in future, how would your life look like without PMO. Best of luck.

Minerals like Zinc will increase your libido and if you are hypersexual that will be a very bad idea. Be careful what supplements you are taking Fapstronauts. Mihadom you are so right about it being a mental thing though, not enough people focus on the mind when doing Nofap. I hope you are planning for a nofap life

After wasting 7 years on PMO, returning to PMO isn't an option. We have to fight through this. This is a serious but unrecognised addiction. Best of luck.

Have to give you your props man. Social anxiety for me is a very big thing as well, the depression I’ve got is on and off. Whenever I don’t feel depressed, I just feel off, like a zombie. It’s a weird thing to explain.

What day would you say your social anxiety reduced drastically bro??

  9. I've wasted 7 years as well. I'm in my longest streak right now(11 mo) and still suffering from post acute withdrawals syndrome(paws). Once I'm done rebooting, pmo can go to hell.
    BTW CONGRATS ON YOUR STREAK!!!!

Somewhere after 4th month. First it gets way worse, then it gets better with time. To completely free yourself of social anxiety you'll also have to change your mindset. Few months ago I finally realised i have SA from relying on other people's opinions, of what others think of me. I'll give an example here. Let's say you are in a bus. You feel the presence of other people (this is where it starts to be uncomfortable). You may start thinking about that they are watching you and thinking about you in negative way, you fear they might judge you (First fear). Now, next thing that comes into your mind is the feeling you may pass out or go crazy (second fear). Then you become highly alert (anxious). You can see here that it is all based on learned negative thinking pattern. If you have this pattern for longer time, it gets integrated into your personality. Basically you become what you fear. If you fear you are anxious in public places, it'll be that way. If you think you are socially anxious, then you are and will be. Question your believes. Ask yourself why do you think you are socially anxious at all. You are not a product of your beliefs.
