Things to do in the Evening and at Night?

    I see a lot of posts, especially on the subreddit, of people's experiences hiking, biking, and getting out of the house during the day to avoid relapsing at home. Doing these helps me to an extent, but the majority of my time is spent during the evening and night, as per my sleep schedule. Accordingly, those times are when the urges hit and without the option to go hiking in the dead of night, I don't really have anything to distract myself with. What are some pastimes you guys have that keep you away from porn during the later hours of the day?

    You're on it right now - this forum is a big one TBH.

    Not terribly exotic but reading and taking time off the forum is another one. I do this thing of trying to finish a book before coming back on here, which takes a few days and which.. Should be about starting soon since I'm doing my 1 year challenge and it's roughly a book every couple weeks or two a month.

    Yeah, I'm going to try to be a bit more active here than I have been in the past. Reading is also a good idea. Any book recommendations?

    Well to start with reading if you're not a big reader I'd say anything that will get you going. I've chosen some that are maybe not everyones cup of tea but so far I've enjoyed them. In my sig is a link to the list of challenges I am doing and one of them is the reading one, so you can link over to that thread and check out a fairly long list - mostly non-fiction but a few sci-fi at the end. Recently there's a fairly big book lovers thread too..

    You can also try writing, maybe listening to calm music or podcasts, or making art.

    I do meditation in the evening, it helps getting calm and focus your thoughts so your mind will be less likely to wander off towards porn. I also try to read more. For falling asleep i like to watch some starcraft2, it is interesting enough to keep my mind occupied, but not exciting enough to keep me awake, so if you can find something similar for you, it might help. Something like a audiobook would probably be better.
    Writing is a great thing as well, i do my journal regularly and got a notebook for all kind of thoughts i have.

    I've found the youtuber "Crazy Russian Hacker" to be a good go-to-bed channel. That meditation is another great idea - I have a subscription to Headspace, and I've been meaning to use it more than I have. Today seems like a good day to start. Thanks!
