    Hi there

I've been addicted to porn pretty much since te very first time I saw it... aged 11. A classmate suggested we look this website. My parents just got dial-up internet for the house, so I checked it out.
Little did I know that I'll be sitting here right now 18 years later, fighting with everything in me, to get rid of this part of my life. If I could just tell that boy of 11 to not go looking for it. On the other hand, with the amount of porn available on the internet and how easily accessible it is, I would have had my first encounter with porn sooner rather than later.

That being said, I am 29 years old now, I live in South Africa and I've been actively fighting against this addiction for almost three years. I had known I have a problem since the age of 19 and I tried to stop then, but I was very ignorant of the sacrifices and commitment it takes to really stop.

Three years ago my girlfriend (now my wife) told me that if I want her in my life, I need to take my recovery very seriously. She's the love of my life, so that day shook me to my core. I told my parents, which was very embarrassing and I also shared this with my best friend (whom I've told about this before but didn't really get the tough love support I was secretly hoping for).

I started the Fortify program, which was and still is brilliant. Fortify tought me a lot about the how's and why's of it all and I also realised how important a routine is. My current routine that I try to stick to is: wake up, get ready for the gym, make the bed (which I see as a healthy habit), pray and go to the gym for a workout. On returning home, I meditate, do some Bible study and pray some more. This routine is super effective and this sets me up for the day ahead.

Weekends are tough, because my routine that I described goes out the window and I've yet to figure the weekend plan out. I do well with routine and structure, but this is difficult when I want to spend as much time with my wife, as she feels loved when I'm with her and spend time with her.

I've had a number of setbacks over the past three years, but today, I've started the badge tracker for no porn and no masturbation. My first target is 7 days and then I'll add on, I think that's sensible goal setting?

Thank you for taking time to read this thread, I do not really have anyone to talk to about these things, so I really hope I can find some people here that can relate.
