Well, the best way to avoid being embarrassed by PMO is to NOT PMO !

Your information suggests you are relatively new to this site.

If you haven't already done so, please read the "Getting Started Guide" available on this site's home page. It includes a lot of information that you will find helpful as you start your journey of healing. Also have a look at the "Glossary" on the top of this page for definitions of abbreviations and terms that may be new to you.

    Hi @Wolvie29 !

If by "this thing" you mean PMO addiction, what it takes to progress healing and avoid PMO is commitment, determination, and dedication. All of those things get wrapped up into a plan for your journey.

The first thing to do is to think about your goals and objectives - the reasons "why I am here and why I need to be here" . Whatever your reasons are, they are fine as long as they are something in which you truly believe and for which you are willing to work hard to approach and progress. Writing down your goals and "why's" often helps to clarify your thinking and it serves a secondary purpose: you can re-read them at least once a day, more often during times of temptation and urges, to remind yourself why you are on your journey of healing.

There are more things to do and more thoughts on how to progress a journey of healing, but for now, start by getting really clear in your head and in your heart why you are here and what you will do each and every day (at least that often) to remind yourself of your "why's".

You've got work to do, so get started.

one day at a time is how we all succeed.

  6. I’m a mother and if I found out my child has this addiction I wouldn’t look down on them.
You’re embarassed because of the shame.
We live in an oversexualized society and sex is shoved in our faces daily. From beer commercials to billboards on the highway.
As a parent I would be thankful it wasn’t a drug addiction.

No need to be embarrassed. Parents love us unconditionally. Many of the men here have been caught by their wives- I know my man was embarassed... and unlike a parent a spouses love isn’t unconditional and I’m (along with many other spouses) are right there beside our men cheering them on towards recovery.

Perhaps that embarrassment is the push start you needed to quit this

Thank you for your kind words probably my mom would also say same thing but she just kept quiet and is behaving with me normally (she probably given me last chance to recover from this addiction)and i am really now motivated to continue my recovery journey.
Yess i will always take this embarrassment as my motivation.
