What is the most effective porn filter now that k9 is gone?

  2. You know, I've been wondering the same thing. . .

Hopefully someone will be kind enough to enlighten us to what exactly we're supposed to do as far as blocking goes now that k9 is gone.

For me, I have yet to find anything as good that you didn't have to pay a steep monthly fee for. :(

Believe me, a porn filter is useless (I used to have one). All the benefits of NoFap comes from your willpower and your self-control. Focus on ignoring porn. Don't focus on searching a porn blocker.
    Wish you the best.

  4. Blocksite is actually pretty good. You can sync the data from the phone app to the desktop version, so you don't have to write every website manually.

However, if your willpower is not strong enough, you could simply turn off the blocker by pressing a switch. That happened to me literally a few hours ago. Now I'm feeling like crap after a double relapse.

My suggestion? Use Appblock (from Play Store) to block Blocksite. As for the desktop browser extension, you can hide the Blocksite icon so you'll forget its existence, therefore making you forget about the kill switch.

  5. The best porn-blocker ever is the human mind. The more you rely on technology to help you abstain, the weaker you'll feel, the easier it will be to fall back.
The thing these blockers fail to provide is personal motivation. You need to learn how to use the consequences of using porn against it. You use porn and then you feel bad. Now you need to use these negative emotions as motivation, only then you're getting somewhere. You're stronger than technology, porn included. Don't forget that. Your brain is literally more powerful than all the computers in the world combined. All you need to do is believe it. Believe that you are strong enough and you will abstain from using pornography. Urges won't even exist the moment you are really motivated to quit.
